  • It's OK if you want to buy something now and just can't wait.

But wouldn't it be much better to just wait for another 20% off eBay deal and use that?

Considerable difference between 5% and 20% off.

Yeh i find TGG to be quite expensive these days without the ebay promos - and even then its only with the stuff they dont price jack prior!

I reckon 5% is actually pretty stingy by todays standards too - 10% or nothing for me thank you very much

and dont get me started on Groupon

  • Less for cash??? ;)

CAN'T COMBINE WITH GIFT CARDS!! Please see below link on the current promo

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…

    • LOL WTF

    • I looked at the link and couldn't see this. All I can see is that the promo is not valid if you are purchasing gift cards. Can you please let us know which clause of the T&C's state this?

      • +1

        Point no. 4

Purchases of Apple, ASKO, Miele, Neff, Jennair, Falcon, delivery, and Gift Card purchases do not qualify for this promotion.

As mentioned above @easternculture to combine the deal with the gift cards which you can't as per the last promo

        • Dude, your not purchasing gift cards from TGG, this is from Groupon. AND you are buying a product with a gift card which qualifies for the PayLess Eftpos cards.

    • +2

Read properly. That's for the purchase of gift cards, you cant claim the free eftpos card.

      Plus its an expired promo.

      Not sure why you negged.

with you guys now.. haven't had coffee when posted…!!

        • +3

Maybe get 5% off an over-priced pod machine at TGG?

  • Any deals on Dick Smith gift cards?

    • Lol…it would not surprise me if groupon was flogging old DSE cards that would not be honoured TBH

  • Gift Card would only stack with cash-off offers, not cash-back like TGG EFTPOS cards. You would need a 10% or 20% off upfront.

Same as if you tried to claim CashRewards when using a Gift Card. Doesn't make sense because you're not paying any cash. Cashback is only payable on the cash you pay.

    • +1

GC are treated as cash, exactly like you pay with an eftpos or credit card.

Please stop making up things unless your sure.

Funny rant about gift cards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xj-7_YU-KIs

Everything that dude says is so true.

$44 billion, yes billion, worth of gift cards have gone unused since 2008.

No wonder they can broker deals with companies like groupon at a measly 5% off at point of sale

What a scam giftcards truly are - these companies are just loving this bullplop - imagine if that $44B went to a handful of worhty charities? It could make a real difference when concentrated in a few areas

      • Can't fault a company seeing a market failure borne out of consummer inaction and then milking it for all it's worth.

It boggles the mind that people choose not to use their gift cards.

        • Ummm yes you can.

also, its just like not using any other crappy present, you give a fake smile amd thanks and toss it in the back of a drawer to be forgotten at first opportunity

  • Additional 5% discount on the Sony 48 led on sale at TGG now https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/241203

Can avail 5% off anytime when using 5% off Woolworth discounted e-gift cards purchased from cashrewards, RACV, entertainment book and buy GoodGuys/Myer/JbHifi/DavidJones gift cards from Woolies.

Also get woolies 4 cent off fuel vouchers + fast delivery of e-gift card.

Not a deal unless it is at least 7.5% off.

Anyway Thanks EC for another Group On deal.

    • Can avail 5% off anytime when using 5% off Woolworth discounted e-gift cards

Not every Woolworths let you use that trick.

They are instructed by management not to sell GC's with GC's especially Digital GC's (due to fraud) but some don't follow the rules.

      But thanks for your comment

      • Go to self check out.Done several times without any hassle with different stores. Never had any problem unless it is another wish gift card which staff need to approve.

EC I did purchase 1500$ worth Gift center gift cards (last week 20 % off deal )+ extra 5% off.

Your quite the high-roller…hope you plan to spend them immediately.

the recent saga with DSE gift card should serve as further warning that gift cards are a sketchy currency at best - especially when sold through an intermediary such as groupon

TGG gift card no longer be sold at Woolworths.

      • Probably, not in Woolies any more.I saw TGG Giftcards in Big W a few months ago,not sure now.

        • It's still available at Big W and Coles, but not at Woolworths any more.

        • @O O: Then we can still use Wish eGiftcard to buy them or even better to use 7.5% off Big W Store eGiftcard.Self-checkout available at some locations.

        • @Neoika: It doesn't work at those stores close to me. 😭

    • Couple of Woolworths stores I've been to had posters on the self checkout that you cannot buy gift cards with gift cards. Not sure if that's the case with manned checkouts

  • The good thing to buy here is the Groupon cashback(5%-9% depends on providers),at least Cashback Terms has not excluded it yet.

  • anyone know how long it takes for you to receive the gift cards through this deal? I want to make a purchase tomorrow of over $1k, but dont want to be waiting forever for my voucher to arrive.

  • According to the Groupon Website it will take 2-4 days to get the gift card emailed to you, so won't work for tomorrow.

Thanks, I bought the deal last night and received the follow up email within 24 hours.

Bought a new 7kg washing machine delivered for $528

    • I wonder if this would be the same if ordered tonight and get them Saturday or sunday? As its a long weekend thinking tuesday? As away for 3 weeks and really want it before then.
      Anyone waited longer than 24hrs.

  • What do you get here gift cards sent or can this be used instore as trying to get a better price on an item as well as maybe use this.

    • eGift cards and they can be used instore like cash

      • Cool thanks

  • Am I right in saying that you can only but one of each gift card? So say I wanted to buy an high priced item to save a little more can't I do this even if I use another card say?

Or are there any better deals out there for good guys at present a 20% off eBay would be sweet right now.

  • Looking to buy a tv and want to get the max out this deal it says you can only buy on of each would be so better if it was 5% off any amount.
Is there anything stopping me buying all three with one card and say all three again with other card and different emails.
Or will i have issues with using them all?
    Wifes card and say mine.
What are you send egift cards by email and they take that ok in store thought it had to be physical gift cards.
