  • Are these a bit crispier/crunchier than Weet Bix?

I liked the Kelloggs one they had, or Weet Bix Multigrain. Normal Weet Bix are too sloppy.

    • +2

I buy Vitabrits instead of Wheatbix because they have no added sugar. Apart from that they should be the same, just wheat and some salt.

As for Kellogs anything they make is usually sugar laden crap.

      • +1

Weetbix are made by Sanitarium and have 3.3g of sugar per 100g, so not exactly over the top, but still more than the 0.4g per 100g in Vita Brits.

      • +1

I tried Vitabrits but it was so bland that I went back to weetbix. I think I can handle a few grams of extra sugar per day if it means not having to eat raw wheat.

    • +1

They turn to a slimy mush and loose all texture once they've soaked up a bit of milk. Whereas Weet-Bix maintain a bit of texture once they've absorbed milk.
Have you tried Aldi's wheat biscuits? They taste almost the same Weet-Bix and I found them to be a lot crispier.

      • Interesting insight as I have actually found the opposite (Weet-Bix more prone to turning into mush)…!

      • I do like the Aldi ones.

Never been a fan of VitaBrits…always tastes like I'm eating cardboard mush…

  • I still have 3 boxes from when it was last at this price.

I hadn't seen it advertised either. It must be an in house special rather than a catalogue special. This happens sometimes with Vita Brits. For some reason it didn't come up on any of my flybuys selected specials either.

    • LOL, so do I, three boxes.

I will sit this special out.

      • +1

Me too, but they haven't been half price for a few months so I am going to buy another 3. They normally have long expiry so not like they will go off.

  • Great deal. Even cheaper than Coles brand. Note the expiry or best before (Cant recall which one) is Jan 2017 so plenty of time.

  • Thanks! Time to stock up.

  • Used to be big on the Weetbix, but since trying Vita Brits a while back have never been back.

Homebrand wheat biscuits taste pretty much the same as Weetbix. Vita Brits taste much better imo…

  • I have also engaged in a critical analysis of Weetbix v Vitabrits.
Vitabrits seemed to have loci where density was higher, which is a negative in streamtrain land.
Weetbix were very satifyingly formed and consistently distributed throughout.

    Weetbix wins.

    • Well it depends how many you do?

      • I have a bro who used to live on them: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Actually there's a chance he still does.

Sure, scurvy can be an issue, but that's about it.

  • I like to do about 9 for breakfast so have decided to switch to vita brits due to the sugar
