    This is cheap.

Would be great as a large safe.

  • Sounds like they're going under…

  • +4

Why their web address go to http://185.93.187.90/8b2C?

    • -3

      just you

    • Something fishy

      • I haven't been able to replicate this error when I go to our url. If you are concerned about the site, then email us for a paypal invoice as described.

Selling for close to delivery cost.

    Link says delivery is free.

    • Link says delivery is free.

Well, of course - since that's referring to the sell price.

The delivery cost isn't free LOL

    • +2

      Please use common sense jv.

Delivery isn't actually free for them.

The delivery cost which is absorbed in the price is close to the selling price (ie. $50).

  • How many couriers have actually signed up to use this? Does Auspost use it?

    • +3

I have a Pakman which has a parcel chute that does not require a code to drop things in, only to empty it. Even then, Australia Post often does not use it (leaving things on top, elsewhere, or dropping a "we could not deliver" card). Even with a plaque under the doorbell saying "Courier - please use parcel chute below", Australia Post still often does not use it. Complains haven't helped.

It's no wonder this business is struggling. Shame, I would have liked to see them do better, as the opportunity technically exists.

      • +3

Parcel delivery contractors, with no direct influence over their behaviour at all. An idiotic arrangement.

  • Great product, just a shame that AusPost parcel lockers have probably pulled the rug out from under you in terms of your market.

  • +4

I would order one, however I'm never home and I don't have any secure storage where it can be delivered!

    • we generally ask for them to be left at the door. At 21kg they are an awkward and somewhat obvious parcel to wander off with!

  • Doesn't let me order. when i type all the details there is no next/confirm?

  • thanks guys- quick replies
-have a number of people who have used these as a safe drop point or collection point for couriers
-not too sure on the web address issue- will look into that now.
-delivery is free- comment was directed at remaining $ after delivery
-couriers are listed on site- Auspost also uses it apart from signed deliveries

  • will check on this now- have just made a few site modifications

  • Hmm, we can't reach this page.

    Try this
•Make sure you’ve got the right web address: http://185.93.187.90

  • sorry guys will resolve asap

  • I read on another website that you charge, or used to charge a weekly service fee? Is this still in place or is it just a flat $50 and it's yours forever? also would this work well as a regular safe if I chose to use it as such? is it as un-breakable as a standard safe?

  • +2

No we've never actually had service fees although we initially had planned to.

It's not a safe and doesnt have the same level of security. A number of customers have used it for basic security- ie laptops in a shared working space or donger etc.

    • Ah, must have been a very old post. Thanks for clearing this up for me :)

  • I'm going to have to make some website changes and repost.
    Apologies for the inconvenience
Alternatively email me on [email protected] and I'll send you a paypal invoice

    Cheers

    • Sorry if this is listed on the website, but what is the dimensions of the unit please?

edit: Found it on the site "55cm wide x 40cm deep x 60cm high and is made out of powder coated galvanized steel"

      • 55cm wide x 40cm deep x 60cm high.

    • Sent an email earlier, hoping to hear back soon (ends with arach.net.au)

  • Could you just leave the parcel box open and ask the delivery person to lock it when they put the parcel in?
I know this limits it to one delivery, but I'd prefer that than to mess around with giving my postie (who is a moron) a pin code and expect him to follow any basic instruction.

    • +1

Yep absolutely- this is something which has been done previously with some success- I have a template sign I can email

  • I've been trying to buy (well, I think I want one, but I haven't seen it yet) however the website still isn't working. Hasn't worked in the last hour.

    • -1

Well, you could have simply read this thread, and them you would know what to do

Part of my issue was that I couldn't see the product. Hence I need the website too.

So I guess thanks for the link (which I had already read) but no thanks for the unnecessary attitude (and ironically, not reading my comment properly)

    EXPIRED

Looks like the sold both of them…

  • Pity No Paypal Option

    • Hey guys, apologies again. Still trying to recover the elusive submit button on the checkout page.

As mentioned above send me an email and I'll send an invoice later- my priority is the checkout at present.

  • I was able to grab one. It seems to be working now.

  • Hi guys, paypal should be working now.

  • shit… i just bought a pakman like 2 weeks ago.. already installed

    • +3

Pakman sounds much cooler, if that's any consolation.

  • Cheers OP, ordered 2!

  • +2

Afluent Prawn is the paypal account this is going to is this legit.

    • Yep its the same account we've had for some time. Happy to contact for credit card details if that's your preference but most customers seem to prefer paypal. If you're concerned check the feedback from previous deals including from our other site surfgeardirect.co

      • Ah ok I keep getting directed to an ip address and even warnings are comming up from my security.

I got through last night but today no good.

        • 185.93.187.90

  • Thanks OP, I just got 2 and will use them for secure storage at work.

    • Welcome Ljuiceman- if you have a read of the lock instructions when you receive it you can set them up with a permanent code or alternatively as a locker style one use system so that other people can use it.

  • Sites down again, was in the process of buying, but now getting database error :/

    NM it came back up

    • Down again…

      • +1

And now it's redirecting to a virus. Not dodgy at all…

  • Never mind, read the description and use the code!

  • At this stage I think we've eliminated the dodgy redirects.

There are still a few units left.

    Cheers

    • Hi, when will the units be shipping (I've ordered two)? Thanks mate

      • +1

Orders that were placed on Thursday went out on Friday. Subsequent orders will go out on Mon or Tues from Sydney.
        Cheers

  • Deal seems legit as at least one arrive for me.

Ordered 2 on Thursday and first one arrived today. Talked to the guys at MPB to have the second one shipped directly to work instead. Was a big hassle to pick it up from the post office for sure.

  • I also ordered 2, but only one has arrived.
Just waiting to get a response back on the missing unit.

    • Seems that Auspost has split a couple of multiple deliveries- can only assume because of OHS issues with the weight perhaps.

We also have asked for all deliveries to be 'safe dropped' without signature, however as usual that is at Auspost's discretion.

      • Thanks for the quick reply. Our AusPost regular delivery guy is "special" as we are luck if he even buzz our door when he delivers. I will see if it is at the PO waiting for collection. P.S love the units, they are very well made and will be very suitable for a secure storage of IT gear in my office.

  • Great bargain, very pleased! :)

  • Two received. Ironically I had to sign for them.
    Impressed thanks.

  • I received mine this morning. I love it, thank you! I've wanted a safe for some time now, but they're so expensive even for little ones. Still deciding if I will use it as a parcel safe or just for stuff I'd rather keep locked away.

  • Status of mine is still processing …..

    • You're welcome guys- glad you like the units.

Kelvin, the status updates aren't working at present. All orders have gone out and should be delivered this week or early next week.

As indicated it's up to Auspost whether they safe drop the delivery- while we ask them to do this it is up to them.

We've had a couple of inquiries about flat batteries. If the batteries go flat on your unit please use a 9v battery on the metal terminals around the LEDs and enter the default 8 digit master code 11 33 55 77. Then replace the batteries by unscrewing the lock.

We're in the process of assessing how much stock is left and will post the coupon again should we have other units available.
