  Won't neg but I took my birthday voucher (entitles you to a free cookie) to Myer's in Melbourne City and they wouldn't give it to me. Quite an embarrassing experience.

    I'm not a fan of taking small business for a ride, but sometimes the (untrained) staff attitude is downright arrogant, so you can either put up with it or react.

    a calculated response to this situation is deserved:

    1. order as per the voucher
    2. while the other staff member starts making it
    3. slowly peruse the other merchandise
    4. after a while turn to the cashier,
       and say 'actually, I just have the coffee — I'd like to use this voucher'

    if at that point they look at your voucher and refuse, just turn and walk away.
    you may not get the free coffee, but it will leave them boiling, since they have to waste what they just refused to give you.

      GOOD RESPONSE

      I always do this.

      I always order, and THEN use a Voucher everywhere I go.

      It doesn't stop all stingy idiot shopowners being foolish and petty.

      But it makes stingy idiot shopowners suffer financially.

      Most times, they just let you have the offer, anyway, since they've effectively "wasted" the product.

    Take it up with their head office. Don't let them off the hook for breaching the Trade Practices Act!

      I did i called up twice the head office & I'm still waiting on a follow up call from them. It's nearly a year later & still no call.

  a good deal, however CookieMan along with MuffinBreak and a few others, need to start making drinkable coffee — even the McDonald's vending machines make better coffee!!

  Joined this last year so no free coffee for me. Forgot to claim then, sigh. -wry- Ended up only claiming buy one get one free sampler pack. Prefer their soft cookies.
