  • The deal on the EPP site is better http://www.lenovo.com/epp/

The discounts are lower, but the machines are quite a bit cheaper than the retail site, so you're still way ahead, also the theshhold to get the maximum discount is lower ($2200 vs $2500)

Save 10% with eCoupon AUEPPWEEKEND on ThinkPad SL510
Save 25% with eCoupon AUEPPWEEKEND on ThinkPad T410, T510 and X201
Save 30% with eCoupon AUEPPWEEKEND on ThinkPad T410, T510 and X201 when your configuration is $2200 or above

Eg: the T410 I used as a base was:

    AU$2,132.58 (EPP Site)
    AU$2,382.55 (Retail Site)

    • I think you need to have an IBM or Lenovo email address to qualify for the EPP discount?

I'm not exactly sure.. I assumed you would have need it. Same as for the Dell EPP Discounts.. You need to have an email address from a organisation that qualify for EPP discounts..

      • If you go to the epp site it says:

Discounted pricing on ThinkPad, ThinkCentre and other products for Lenovo employees, friends, and family.

I know because I purchased my T500 this way. No special email address or epp code needed like Dell. At the end of the day Lenovo just wants your cash and only suckers go to the Retail online store ;)

    • skysky is correct, you are supposed to provide a Lenovo or IBM employee email address or serial number to be eligible for the EPP discount

T&C are listed at the bottom of the webpage that shows the discounted Thinkpad models:
      http://shopap.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/auepp/StdA...

      One of them says:
"Eligibility: The following individuals are eligible for the program:
      * Regular full-time or regular part-time Lenovo and IBM employees with a valid Lenovo or IBM Serial Number
      * Regular retired, permanently disabled or on-leave-of-absence Lenovo/IBM regular employees
      * Supplemental & Co-op Employees with a valid Lenovo/IBM Serial Number
      * Family members and personal friends of the above
      * Surviving spouses of Lenovo/IBM regular employees
A Lenovo or IBM employee email address or serial number is required for all purchases under the Program."

Having said that, the last time I purchased anything thru the EPP was when I was an IBM employee, and I don't remember whether it asked me for my serial number or email address. Of course, things could have changed since then!
