    • Same question here - 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer ES CH Auto, assume it will be the same dash. Considering purchasing and getting install on Saturday at JB's unless others can recommend an installer (Sydney Eastern Subs)? Don't trust myself to do it!

  • Spackbace, does this unit go with maxima 2007. Factory unit only plays wav file n no Bluetooth.

    • Not sure sorry

  • Hi OP, will this fit in my Citroen c4 2005? Planning on installing it myself as this link makes it look simple enough… www.caraudioremoval.com/citroen-c4-stereo-removal.html

    • Not sure sorry

    • you need to get a ISO harness from ebay and connect it between your car and this unit.

  • Do I require a DIN pocket for a Yaris?

    • Yes, and a ISO harness. I'm thinking of installing this for my missus Yaris too

  • I was after a gps plus Bluetooth system for Honda CR-V 2008. What would you guys recommend?

  • Warning! This head unit makes an annoying "beepbeepbeep beepbeepbeep beepbeepbeep" sound when you turn off your car. You cannot disable this feature.

  • What extra features do you get that you couldn't get by plugging in an AUX cable into your phone?

The ability to not get fined by the cops?

      • Fair point.
I'm not adept at using google now but I'd guess it'd be possible to say "google now, next song" or "play x". However obviously an issue in a noisy car.

    • Well not sure with this one but with my head unit you can control the phone eg. Answer/make calls and skip songs without having to touch your phone

How does this Pioneer compare over Sony? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/gps-car-audio/pioneer

    • +1

I'm looking at that too. It has radio and Aux in

      • +2

Lol the Sony has radio as well. I don't think they'd sell many if they didn't!

AUX is redundant once you use USB or BT.

Otherwise they look much the same, depends which look you prefer :)

        • +1

Thanks for that. I thought it was weird. but most of the other ones seem to mention FM radio

        • Sony looks better (to me) but I wouldn't discount AUX that easily.

          Thanks for the info.

  • Remember no CD on these btw

    • CD?

      ;-)

  • When they say receiver do they mean AM/FM Radio? Or just receiver for digital audio?

How does one determine if they will fit our car(s)? Without having to ask OP :-)

    Honda Odyssey 1995

    Mitsubishi Verada 1997

    Thanks OP.

    • Just saw the radio answer above ;-(

Just purchased a Pioneer unit with 2 x bluetooth pairing and CD player incl installation for $234 - all done in under an hour, pretty pleased with that.

    • Which one?

      • DEHX4850BT: $100 install and $134.40 unit

  • Thanks, picked up a Kenwood DDX4016BT for $299 which came with a reversing camera free. Pretty happy with that. Now just waiting on the facia to arrive so I can get it going!

    • was that a special in-store bundle or does it automatically come with one?

      • +1

Believe it is a Kenwood promo thats automatic, when researching the HU a little bit i saw someone mentioned it from auto barn in march. So i wasnt sure if it was still going as i cannot find any material online about the promo.
When it was put through the register thats when the staff saw it comes with the camera as well. So it shows up on their register saying to give the camera with it. Then they just had to put it through as a mix n match to have it not charge.
The camera is usually $199 though apparently, and is the main reason i wanted a 2din HU.
Just ask when you go in. Should work.

        • I did ask today and they confirmed. Is this the camera? CMOS-130

        • +1

@CVonC: yeah thats the camera model!

        • @tekkrohnz:

Hmm mine came with CMOS-230. Not sure what the difference is, if any at all.

  • Spaceback, would you know if this is what I'd need for my Corolla 2005 for the Kenwood DDX4016BT?

    • +1

Youll also need the app0141 to go from toyota to iso and then that one to go from iso to kenwood.
That iso to kenwood is the one i used and works fine! The harness kits made it easy as.
Only thing that didnt fit is the plastic square to go around the headunit and make it look neat once it is all installed. Which isnt too bad without it, just would look bit cleaner finish with it

      http://aerpro.com/vehicles/toyota/toyota_corolla_2002_2007

      • Thanks heaps mate. Yeah I looked it up on that site last night and realised I need the other harness. What car did you install it in? Are the brackets an absolute necessity? I'm guessing not as you alluded to. Also, did you install your reverse camera?

        • +1

I installed into a honda integra 2005. I cant tell you if the facia is nessecary because i am unsure if mine was standard or not. There was already an after market unit in it. So i just reused that (after purchasing one aswell!)

The harness kits makes it easy as though, just clip each into eachother. Done in minutes. The only cable you will need to strip back is the reversing camera ones and the parking sensor to ground (which i havent done yet, means no dvd playback until i do that tomorrow, so no biggie).

        • @tekkrohnz:

Cheers mate! Just a final query, did you get the APP8KE2 or the APP8KE1? Inclined to think it's the 2 that suits our head unit?

        • +1

@CVonC: sorry just saw this, i got the following:
          https://www.autobarn.com.au/aerpro-kenwood-to-iso-harness-16…
Not aure which one that is as looks different to either. Of those two you linked i would probably guess the ke2. Mainly as it names our units predecessor

        • +1

@CVonC: when you install install the headunit, connect the parking safety sensor cable (green one in box with HU, separate from other cables) to the ground on the harness. So you can play DVDs on the head unit. By connecting it to ground it does mean it wont disable video playback when driving as it is intended for, if you want that you would need to find out what it is MEANT to connect to. Just easier to ground it though instead.
