I think 80% off might finally make them competitive with buying them online. Just.

My local store closed early and had sign saying a massive shipment is coming tonight.

Maybe those millions of dollars with of TV's.

    • Those TV are still like 20%-25% discount only =.=

They opened the package and were selling them for $4.60 each at my local :/ Then again they were selling the shelves and floor mats too.

  • If these are proper standard HDMI cables, they will only support up to 720P and 1080i. For anything higher, you need a High Speed HDMI cable.

        Don't knock it :P

I've got a couple of Monster M2000HD HDMI cables myself, i kid you not. Only paid $50 each for them though. At least it won't end up falling apart like these cheap generic cables might.

    • It's labelled "High Speed Ethernet" on the actual cable.

    • I bought some today. "Supports 3d and full HD resolution"

I just have cheapies from eBay, and they work fine at 1080p60.
Though you may be more likely to have trouble if using extra long cables.
The only cables I've had with problems at 1080p were some thin VGA ones.

  • Salesman at Dicks told me he ran 4k through these from his computer ,
ended up buying the premium shielded ones instead,
    still feel like junk
I would only get very top end ones now if any left at these prices

  • Was in the Chatswood store yesterday. Still plenty of HDMI cables left. DS Standard HDMI cable 3 x 1m pack $4. DS Gold Series Braided HDMI Cable 1.5m cable $3.89

Also plenty of MOVE covers and USB type A to B (ie printer) cables left as well.

Can get 4k compatible ones for around the same price at Officeworks anytime. Chance of finding them at a Dick Smith store not spectacular.

    • That's single cables. These are twin packs.

      • Didn't read properly.
Still, I've visited DS 6 times since they went bust, hoping for a bargain, only to leave disappointed. Can't be bothered anymore.

That's just marketing, those are likely no better quality than other high speed HDMI cables https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/242526

Wow does it explain a lot when 80% off at closing down sale finally makes DSE prices competitive?

    • Actually even with 80% off I thought it was pretty ordinary, and was like meh, I'm not buying anything, no bargains here.
