Dat value. Might as well go clothes shopping.

  • +12

    Any bargain there ?

    • Depends what you're after, but things like coffee machines are actually very competitively priced.

      • Whats a good coffee machine? With best value to use with this and any cashbacks?

        • +2

Breville BES870 is the one I was most interested in; $699 here & everywhere else…then you factor in CR & $100 voucher = win! :)

        • +2

@StewBalls: You might be able to get that cheaper at Dick Smith IF you can find one in store.

I think they are consolidating their homewares but I have not found out to where yet.

        • +4

          @OZB Al: Absolutely, that's a big IF though! ;)

Still looking for a way to extract some value from a $100 Myer gift card; can't use it online, and in-store is overpriced!

    • Ask instore to price match

      • +4

        It's eBay promotion, not Myer

    • +4

You can't use this voucher in store anyway, it's only valid for Myers eBay store

    • Sell it on eBay for face value - or less if you want the money faster.

  • +1

Does anyone know if you get myer one points if you buy from their ebaystore?

  • Sounds almost too good to be true? Whats the catch?

    • +106

      Finding a bargain.

      • +8

Catch is - $100 myers voucher has to be used by 31st May. it'll be sent on 1st May. so be ready to see overpriced items on Myer's ebay store for the month of May.

    • +7

Don't see what the catch really is, it is good but not too good to be true. In essence ideally you would spent $200 to get $300 worth of stuffs, in eBay Myer only, so really just a 33.33% discount.

      • So you buy one thing > $200 at full price, and then you get a $100 voucher to use on a second order?

      • +3

33.33% is the best achievable discount. If you pay $250 on an item and use the $100 voucher towards another item worth say $150 the discount rate drops significantly.

        • +11

Exactly, to achieve 33.33% discount you have to find an item that is exactly $200 to purchase the first time, and the second time an item that is exactly $100. Any amount beyond that the effective discount reduces. So it is really not something that is 'too good to be true'. Not to mention most of the stuffs in the eBay store are over priced.

  • Can we use myers gift card to pay?

    • The redemption code requires payment with an Australian PayPal account in order to take effect.

    • +5

      Dude, it's eBay. So no.

    • +13

You can't even use Myers gift cards on their own website :/

  • +6

Nespresso by Breville Pixie & Milk: Red $179 (after $70 cashback) and $100 Myer voucher. not bad.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231860029753

    • Is puchasing from eBay (Myer) valid for cashback?

      • I have not bought from ebay Myer before. But all the big stores send a proper invoice, so i dont see why not.

      • Yep, I've purchased one through The Good Guys ebay store and received the nespresso cashback

        • But are you sure Myer is the same as TGG gives you are proper Myer tax invoice?

        • @wtfnodeal:

They would wouldn't they? A tax invoice is a tax invoice.

        • @wtfnodeal: I think by law, you as a customer can demand one.

        • @Huntta: Sorry I need to be more specific about would the tax invoice have "Myer eBay Store" printed on it or not. You cannot demand them to remove the "eBay Store" if you didn't buy directly from Myer right?

        • @wtfnodeal: No you can't ask them to remove the "eBay Store" but I bet you they have the same ABN.
Now, the T&C for the Nespresso promotion clearly states that if the store is not "online only" then it's ok. www.nespressopromotion.com.au

        • @Huntta: then this Pixie looks like a good deal then if you have anything worth $100 to buy in May. $108 after factoring $100 eBay voucher and $70 cash back

          http://stores.ebay.com.au/myer-store-official?_nkw=pixie&sub…

Surprisingly it is cheaper than TTG price.

Braun series 3 shaver for $199 (down from $299) looks good.

    Any decent large sized suitcases?

    • I like this one
      Large: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-American-Tourister-Cube-Pop-H…

      Also comes in
      Medium: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-American-Tourister-Cube-Pop-H…
      Small: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-American-Tourister-Cube-Pop-H…

I've always wanted a whole set of Samsonite/American Tourister hardcases. This is a nice set for a total of $528.50 plus CR and the $100 voucher.

Another tip is to buy your suitcase within 60 days of travelling overseas and take the suitcase with you, to claim the TRS as well for 10% off.

The one I really want is the small Samonite Cosmolite ($347.4)
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsonite-Cosmolite-FL-Spinne…
A very competitive price, considering the cheapest I've seen is $345 (Strandbags sale and luggagedirect.com.au, although the red one is $318, http://www.luggagedirect.com.au/brands/samsonite-luggage-bag…)

I think I will get the red one from luggage direct because I can't find anything else to spend the $100 voucher on come May.

      • I don't get why you would purchase from others even though you might not have anything to buy in May, but it is free money to spend right ? Or am I missing something here ?

        • +1

I'm leaning towards the other one more because its red- Myer only has silver, and to me it's too big an investment to spend on a colour that is not my first choice. Ano now from further browsing, I've found even more temptations. I now also want the matching magenta coloured Kenwood Food Processor ($179) + Chopper ($64.50) and then the Blender ($109.50) in May (the power of OzBargain…spend to save)

        • @karen_lee89: Can't we buy silver then exchange it at store ? Or no red one at all at store ?

        • @yht: I'm not sure about that- good idea though. I'm going to go into the Myer store after work to see if they have red at all, then I can ask about the exchanges as well. Myer doesn't have the red suitcase on their normal Myer website.

  • Dyson V6 Animal is on sale for $529, so minus $100 makes it a $429 good deal…

    • +47

You still paid $529 in cold hard cash mind you. You just have an extra $100 to spend on other items. Not exactly same as having it for $429.

      • is that how it works? in that case this aint such a good deal

        • +2

          Yep, it's in the title.

    • +1

I don't get all the rage about the Dyson vacuum cleaners tbh, my el-cheapo cyclone one from kmart gives me the same results lol

      • True that!!!

      • +2

        You alternate machines?

        • I've tried em both on my carpet, results-wise they're both the same.

Yes the Dyson has better "ergonomics" but I don't think I'd pay extra for that. Just my $0.02

      • I have an older model Dyson barrel vacuum (DC29?) and it was loads better than the cheapo $70 ones from Kmart that kept clogging and losing suction. That Dyson didnt have any motorised attachments. Anyway, I bought the V6 Absolute during the last eBay sale for quick jobs and it is MUCH better than the older Dyson. I vaccumed our rug with the DC29 and then the V6 Absolute with the motorised head straight after and was very surprised (and disgusted) by how much dirt and hair it picked up!

      • -5

        It's a status symbol.

I wonder how many people buy them that are renting?

  • Some great deals, thanks for sharing TA. They have some luggage/suitcases on sale at 40% off (some are best price I can find already), so the extra $100 voucher works well with those.

  • +1

Why can't they offer 100 off when you buy for 300+
This is a marketing ploy to hook you in. 33.33% of if you spend exact 300 that too in two lots

    • +7

      Because its marketing strategy :)

      • Also, if you forget to claim the $100 before May, Myer wins!

      • nope, it's strategic marketing.

  • A good thing I haven't yet got my mother's day present. Now I can also get something for myself with the $100 voucher! (or vice versa)

  • +3

Keep in mind, in May when you get the $100 voucher, you need to spend it at the Myer Ebay store again by the end of the month.

  • -6

Purchase just before the promotion date and once you claim the 100 dollars return the purchases as they offer 30 days money back and use up the 100 dollars….

Promotion end on the 20th of April.

    $100 voucher
The voucher is valid from 1 May 2016 until 23.59 (AEST) on 31 May 2016

    • Don't they offer 60 days return ?

    • In the event you return or seek a refund on any item purchased using a voucher, the value of the voucher will not be refunded to you.

    • If you try to return after it's been issued they may well subtract the value from the return. They do this with their regular channel purchases. The terms also note " The voucher will not be issued where a buyer initiates a cancellation following an eligible purchase."

  • -2

Can you link your Myer One with purchases through Ebay?

    • +19

Is nobody reading previous comments in this thread?

      • +1

        Obviously not.

      • +4

        Do people ever?

      • +1

        Obviously not.

  • +3

even they are 33.33% off, it is still too much. Cannot choose anything worth buying in store with the gift card I got. I rather pay cash to buy at Target.

    • +4

Yeah, this is nowhere near as good as it sounds. It's a "buy $300 for $200" offer, with the limitation that $100 must be spent during May (don't count on specials", and it's limited to their eBay store (which, last time I checked, was shockingly overpriced).

Myer has a way for wording their promotions that make them sound good.

  • When did Myer go on eBay?

    • +1

      Ask eBay

  • +1

The deal is good, but i can't see anything on Myer ebay to buy lol

    • +1

Agree! The prices are still so high.

  • +3

NEW Breville BPR700BSS http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231843688967 The Fast Slow Pro Cooker by Myer
    $296 + $50 cashbak https://www.brevillepromotions.com.au/ +$100 ebay store credit

    • I spent $150 at the good guys for the non Myer branded one of these. What makes this $100 better?

      • +1

You bought the next model down. Bpr200 not bpr700

  • -1

Hope this is not a last ditch attempt by Myer before they chuck a Dickie….

  • +5

I'm sorry I can't +1 this because Myer is so insanely over priced finding one bargain at $200 is hard enough then going back to find something to spend the voucher on would be even harder

    • +4

Agree, no idea why this has been upvoted so much!

      • +2

        I am wondering too.
Not a great deal as it sounds
Myer hired more people in a hurry to run their ebay project.
This is a great deceiving offer.

  • +8

sorry TA, but sounds like one of those switch and bait schemes of Myer

get everyone to spend $200, then one month later inflate prices to compensate for voucher.

    • +3

I'm with you. Not sure why it is such a great deal. Their prices are not that great. Then you have to spend at least $200 the first time and then at least $100 the second time. So you are probably really getting $350 worth of goods for $250. But given Myer's already inflated prices an additional 30% discount is not enough for me.

I can understand that it is worthwhile if you were already going to spend that much on their ebay store (with limited stock). But I wouldn't go out of my way to make a purchase.

    • +1

      Agreed

Myer prices will rise to offset the voucher.

  • Thanks TA. Went through CR and bought a couple bags, let's see if the transaction can be tracked this time.
How and when will we receive the $100 voucher?

  • Can someone recommend a good (basic) microwave?
