  • Title is a bit misleading, it suggest the ticket is for any IMAX cinema, when it is only valid for the one in Sydney.

    • Well there is no where else relevant…

  • -1

Is it for ALL IMAX ??

  • +1

code not listed on cashrewards yet.

  • I have just purchased this. Thank you!

  • So if IMAX Sydney gets Warcraft which is due for release 10 June, I could use this voucher since it says valid to 31st July? If yes then WIN

    • yes

    • +2

Keep in mind that its only available 10 days after release of any full feature film at Imax Sydney though and the ticket has to redeemed in person and not online

      • It says:
        • Not valid for the first ten days of a full length feature film release at IMAX Sydney
So I took that to mean that I can't use the voucher for the first 10 days the film is out but can afterwards (I intend to see this movie more than once)
        Re redemption it says:
        • Ticket must be redeemed in person at the box office at the chosen participating cinema.
I took that to mean the movie e-ticket you get after following this process:
        (1.) Buy your OurDeal voucher
        (2.) Go to http://host.ourdeal.com.au/amv/
(3.) Enter your OurDeal Voucher code to generate and download your Australian Movie Voucher e-ticket
(Voucher code and e-ticket download can only be used once)
(4.) Print out your Australian Movie Voucher e-ticket
(5.) Present AMV e-ticket on arrival at cinema Box Office staff for validation

      • So this is basically ineligible for the No Free List movies from the IMAX website

        • So my understanding is that for the first 10 days of new feature film they don't allow free tickets or voucher use, but afterwards you can use vouchers but it depends on the film.
If it turns out I can't use the voucher for Warcraft, I will just use it to see another movie or a documentary.

        • @girliebird: Thats correct. Bought mine from the last groupon deal. Wanted to watch bat vs super but it expires 1 day before it became possible to use the free tix.

I havent checked the website yet but if its what you said that it expires 31st July then this is actually good. Problem is the time they view the movies are a pain if you work on weekends ==

  • Does this 15% off deal apply to this?

I tried and it says unauthorised and all prices go missing.

    • same thing happened on another voucher i was looking at but I tried it again and it worked the second time. YMMV

  • The imax is horrible, decades old technology, horrible contrast and colours, you can see the pixels. It's far too large for any real enjoyment.

Home tv's and sounds systems have far suppressed the "Imax" experience.

    • +1

May be I don't have home theatre like one you have. Isn't that a bit exaggerating.

      • +1

My home Samsung home theater cost 99 dollars and have had it since 2011. My TV is fairly new, 42 inch 2013 LG Smart 3D, was about 860. I'm very thankful for it to be running well Alhumdulillah.

The positioning of your tv, sound system and couch is what's important, if you position it all perfect, the TV feels just like a cinema in terms of the view you are getting.

I've spent about a day or two trial and erroring it to fit right, and some of my friends have come over and asked me what size my TV was because it felt so large, even though they have 55" inch tv's, but it's too far away from them and they couldn't believe where the sound was coming from.

It's not about the price, it's the setup. You can have all the highend gear and set it up wrong and you can have budget gear you set up right.

Imax is a horrible experience to watch a new movie on.

  • I think Australian movie voucher website itself is better with corporate member links around $13 and that has one year expiry date instead of 3 months with same terms and conditions.

    • Where did you got ticket price for $13? I have checked AMV link and it's for $14.25 each with minimum 10 purchase required plus $6 delivery fee? Not sure if I'm looking at right place?

The minimum tickets requirement might have changed now, but with member links minimum were as low as 1 or 2 tickets.

Edit: looks like the prices has gone up to $14.50 in the past few months. Last time I checked it was increased to $13.xx

  • If you're in Melbourne and a brunch person I'd recommend this deal http://www.ourdeal.com.au/melbourne/restaurants/deal/dip-in-…
