    Assure = Ass u r?

    • Dunno, but it's NOT for iOS (eg, iPad, etc.)

      It's ONLY for iPhone users.

  • can you clarify if the points are for connecting the app to you Assure account or you FF one?

    • To FF (have updated the description). Don't have an Assure account — too expensive

No app for Android users? So insurance schemes and related updates only for I phone users?

      • -8

        Android is for poor people

        • +7

No idea why you are being negged as this is exactly the reason there is no Android app.

As a demographic Android users do not spend anywhere near as much money as Apple users.

        • Last I heard, Android people brought the phones outright, not on fancy plans where you ended up paying twice the price for the phone street value or got freebies as work phones. No need to fret just an opinion.

          @soyea:

          That's because you can buy a 50 dollar Android, a 100 dollar Android, a 200 dollar Android, a 250 dollar Android, a 3xx dollar Android, a 4xx dollar Android.

IPhones are not cheap, even the SE is like 800+. I myself think contracts are poison, will never go near them and yes they a ripp off, but I don't thing they are more people who buy a iPhone on contract than there are S7 people who buy on contract. You have to compare the teir, a 200 dollar Android is not the same as a 900 dollar iPhone.

        • +1

You can buy into the hype, but you cannot hide the difference in the quality of pictures and all the ancillary benefits. I just hope for competitions sake, the Iphones do not become the next blackberry or Nokia

        • +4

          @soyea:

The iPhone isn't garbage, it's takes excellent pictures and has top notch hardware, the A9 is a beast.

Stop being so insecure, Noone said HTC and Samsung arnt good phones, they have great hardware, but you know what, the software quality of apps is nothing compared to iOS or the ego system or the post sales services.

Remind us again how you can just sign into an Android and have all your data return within minutes and setup your home screen, app data, everything exactly as it was… 5 years later and Android still doesn't have a iCould type backup and restore.

Also can you just walk into an Samsung or htc store and walk out with your device fixed within an hour? No.

Updates. Yea Android 7 will be out this year and 90 percent of your people arnt even running Android M.

That being said I consider Android a better designed OS, don't like iOS's structure, but it's a more complete package in apps, ego system and support for both the hardware and software.

        • +1

@Zylam Marex: What's an 'ego system'?

        • @carkell: People with an ego have a system to express their ego. Yea. that.

        • +1

@Zylam Marex: I don't think the iPhone is garbage by any means, but I don't think it's worth ~$1000 either. I hold the same opinion of Samsungs which are now ~$1000 too.

Don't know about other people, but after using phones around the $200-400 mark, but personally it's really made me feel that the phones that cost ~$1000 are seriously not worth it. You can get an awesome phone for $200-400, which might lack something like….. wide-selfie, iCloud.

You're right, Android doesn't have anything iCloud, but that's where using Google Drive/OneDrive/Dropbox/Box comes into the picture.

  • Hmm… could be good if it comes to Android. If there's no limit to points from daily goals I want to grind my way to a free trip to Japan.

When I loaded the app and logged in using my QFF details, my profile in the app says I've earned 10 points (total locked Qantas Points earned). Then theres a red button that says "Unlock Qantas Points by joining Qantas Assure". So i guessing that to transfer these points, you would have to have Qantas Assure membership.

    • +1

I got that also but they sent me a push notication a few minutes later saying "200 point will be credited to your FF account" (or something to that effect). Perhaps the 10 points are connected to Assure?

  • The points that you earn from the tasks are locked, until you purchase a qualifying item from the store.
I believe you will get the 200 points regardless

  • Do you get the points if you've already downloaded the app?

    • Yes, just wait a few minutes, they will send you a notification

  • The only iOS device I have is an iPad Mini, and the app doesn't let me.
    Sigh.

    • Doesn't work on my iPhone 4S either. I can install & open the app, but it won't connect to the phone, so I can't complete the sign up.

      • Presumably needs a step tracker (i.e. motion coprocessor) so 5S and above only.

  • +5

I don't understand what I have done wrong. I'm on my iphone. I download the app. I successfully log in. It takes me to "Lets get connected". I click Iphone, I allow the thing it wants me to allow. It returns me to the Let's get connected page and where it said Iphone it says Not Connected.

If I go into Apple Health it seems to suggest that Qantas Assure is connected under sources. What gives?

    • Yeah I'm having the same issue and my iPhone won't sync/connect to the app - I presumed they were having trouble at their end

      • same here… but i have an iphone 5 so maybe i need a fitbit too?

        • +1

I've just emailed the Qantas Assure support people. I have undoubtedly spent way too much time for whatever the approximate value of 200 QFF points is but I guess it will be worth it so my account doesn't expire. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that is a thing that happens if you don't earn any points within a certain window. Could be wrong

iphone 5 and ios 9.0.2 here

        • @hetzjagd: Yes correct. It's either 12 months or 18 months of inactivity and your points will expire (can't remember).

    • +6

I had the same problem, fixed this by MANUALLY adding steps. (this was 4S btw)

Open Health App > Health Data > Fitness > Steps > Add Point - say 5000 steps

Open Qantas app then it seemed to link, waiting for points now…

      • +1

this worked for me as well. thanks a lot wombok2!

        • No worries, glad it worked. Points come 5 mins later:)

      • Excellent advice wombok - worked for my iPhone 5c…..much appreciated!!

  • Haha 200 points, what's that less than 20c…per hour payment.

    • +2

Nah 200 points is more like ~$2, what's that more than ninetyNineCents.. yep.

    • what flights can i redeem with 200 points?

  • Awesome! Surprised I didn't receive the email as a Qantas FF member hmm. Thanks for sharing this deal. Another good reason for my walks to work everyday :)

  • they also have a deal on whereby if you take out their top insurance and hold for 2 months you get 50,000 points - but this is for couples/family cover
if you already have a fairly high health insurance then it could be a good deal. My back of the napkin calc put these points worth around $400-$450.

    • That was a popular deal if I remember correctly.

      • Single top hospital and extra is around $53 a week, you think it's a good deal if you combine Apple Watch and 25000 points? At the end of 2 months let say 10 week to be safe I will spend $530 and will get watch and points and then I can cancel my cover. Also, additional saving can be added on top of that as I don't need to pay Medicare levy.

  • Please change from "iOS" to "iPhone" as the app is not available on an iPad

  • +1

Just like with their FF Points earned while walking, you need to actually purchase an insurance policy before they can be unlocked:

earn Qantas Points through the Qantas Assure App, Qantas Frequent Flyer members must take out and maintain a Qantas Assure health insurance policy.

    • Just got a call from Qantas Assure trying to sell me Health Insurance in order to unlock all the points I have earned from my steps!!

I said there's no way they could match my current policy so she said when there's a different promo to unlock points she'll let me know - so it may be a moving offer from time to time..

  • 200 points only worth for $2 .. do you find is it worth these hiccups ?

  • I got 200 points in my account today.

  • Got 200 points as well.
