Starbucks free brewed coffee April 15th - Bring own cup

280

Join the movement. On April 15th, bring a reusable travel mug into your local Starbucks and get a free brewed coffee.
One person can save trees, together we can save forests.

For the good of the planet, Starbucks is encouraging everyone to switch from paper cups to reusable travel mugs. One day in March thousands of New Yorkers made the switch. Join them now by taking a pledge to do the same.

It's a shame that all the Starbucks have closed out my way :(

so true - americans have no idea what a good coffee is. Their coffee is like bubble cup with coffee flavour all sugar and no body.

  • Offer varies by country, ask your barista for details.

I'm wondering if they will honour the promotion here.

probably fill the coffee with the paper cup and pour it into your 1 litre how water flask lol… and chuck the paper cup away!!!

  • I bet it's a bait and shop.
I reckon they'll run out of coffee after 10 cups. :-)

no starbucks for me… never liked their coffee… probably never will.

So any travel mug will do? Good, I'll bring my 2 l flask. Just kidding, it's a normal size mug.

BTW, the number of trees saved is paltry, I note that there are over 34,000 pledges but only 20 trees saved. I save more trees by not buying newspapers. Saves me reading news of no importance. Anything I want to know I can find online anyway. No wonder Murdoch is desperate.

  • Free Starbucks!
Yahoo!! Just hope I don't walk in tmw with my thermo cup and then get laughed at by the staff: "What? Free coffee? Are you kidding me? Save a tree? Go plant some more!"

    • bring a ptintout of that page with you XD

  • will someone be a dear and try this deal for the rest of us?
if it doesn't work out, at least you'll have an amusing story you can tell your grandkids :P

  • Brewed American coffee - yuck!

I'll bet they can't give it away.

(Not meaning to disparage the poster in any way.)

  • Maybe the 685 odd people who lost their jobs after SB's closed a few stores can go in and get a free coffee. Nice one SB's.

    • Who would have thought that when you open a new Starbucks within a couple of hundred metres from another one, that business at the original branch might drop?

      • doesn't seem to bother mcdonalds?

        • How about 7-11 ?! :P

  • The last time it was free coffee (and free paper cup too), it was only percolated 'Americano' style black coffee. Oh, and it was vile.

    • Damn, I won't bother then. I wanted a white chocolate mocha :)

    • Ok, in that case I will ask them what kind of coffee they are serving and not bring out my mug but turn up my nose instead if it's awful brewed coffee. Probably a couple of sugar sachets would be worth more in that case. lol!

  • I'm picturing this would be like a soup kitchen, only the people serving would look at you with disdain, rather than pity.

  • Just went into the one in Sydney city, they havent really heard of it.. LOL but they will give it to you if you take in a travel mug. I tried it with a regular mug and it didnt work! ;-)

    • Hope this isn't going to be another Grill'd situation.

      • If the coffee is brewed, I don't think people will make a fuss about missing it.

There's a reason it's called a bottomless pot of coffee, it's for people with bottomless stomachs. lol!

  • I went into the one on the corner of George Street and Hay Street in Sydney, near Captial Theatre at around 6pm. They dared to tell me that the offer ended at 4pm and it was stated on the website. But I don't see it on their website. Liars!!

  • I went into the Glenferrie Starbucks (Melbourne) on glenferrie rd, they said they never heard of it!
They only give 40c discount, which is the usual promotional discount.

    BOOO!
