    • Thankyou good sir.

    • Thanks for the update.

    • What a total legend, thanks mate.

    • You're a gentleman and a scholar

  • can this one be installed on a portable drive ?

    • i don't see any reason why not. =)

      • +3

Apart from DLL's and registry settings that might get installed to the installation machine.

Just installing it to a Portable drive wont necessarily make the software portable.

      • Have a look at the review on the page. It says No portable.

        "No portable version

Honestly, this is the only bad thing I could find on EasUS Data Recovery Wizard. Portable versions are pretty cool – especially if you move around a lot and could be in a position to recover deleted data from another machine without necessarily installing the software."

        • You can make a portable version by using VMware Thinapp software.

    • It would only work on the PC that the USB drive was connected to at the time of installation

Would be useful for this guy today http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/new… (except linux)

    • Should still work if he plugs his drives in via usb?

    • Haha, had a good laugh at that!

  • Wonder if this will recover my X-Raid drives from my dead NAS

    • +1

Why did you X-Ray your hard drive? (That's a joke before the neg brigade starts).

      • +1

The X-Rays probably allowed him to see the data without opening up his drive. How else was he going to recover it???

  • Presumably the advantage over TestDisk (http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk), PhotoRec & DDRescue is a GUI (although there is QPhotoRec)?

We've used TestDisk for basic forensic work at the office after inappropriate use of office PC's & I've used PhotoRec before on a buggered SD card, but then I'm very comfortable on the command line & prefer not to boot/touch the drive I'm trying to recover data from.

  • This could not come at a better time. I tried using Tuneup Utilities Undelete (great program for every other thing) on my phone after I lost several photos when my device went into a constant boot loop as a result of software issues (non-rooted device); only to find that a lot of these recovery software programs do not work on "Media Devices", and for the life of me I couldn't get my phone to register on my computer as a hard-drive, and I'm quite techy and tried everything!

I'll rush getting home! Best case scenario by 7pm, so we're pushing it! I hope it'll work on my "Media Device" as per description above.

    • I've used this app previously to recover several hundred photos. It might be worth a shot.

  • Chengdu Yiwo Tech Development Co. Ltd. No, sir. Not using this China spyware crap.

    • Then I guess you don't use phones either?

Big brands like Huawei, Xiaomi etc have their brands and high commercial stakes to protect but nobody's heard of this company. Having said that, there's a reason Huawei was excluded from the NBN bid by the government on advice from ASIO.

        • Most phones and electrical equipment is manufactured in China - you have no idea what could be happening.

Despite the ban on Huawei, the government is still using a lot of network infrastructure that comes out of Hong Kong from Australian and Chinese companies.

        • @Clear:

Western manufacturers tightly control the manufacturing process and the source code so there's a big difference between 'made in China' and 'Chinese owned'.

          Thanks for the neg bro.

          @elektron: Lenovo Superfish.

To elaborate further on my statement. Australian Government use Cisco infrastructure. Cisco is an American company with their products manufactured in China. Snowden leaks revealed Cisco routers being tampered by NSA. So my point is, how do we know this isn't happening from the Chinese government or other third parties?

I'm not saying it's definitely happening though. I'm just pointing out that it's possible.

        • @Clear:

          Cisco = Possible

Chengdu Yiwo Tech Development Co. Ltd = Probable

    • Thanks - good information to have before making an informed decision.

  • Thank you so much. Much needed, life saver.

  • Will this code expire? How can I ensure this works in future?

  • Can anyone confirm if this is virus free?

  • Many Thanks .. hope I'll never have to use it.

  • sucks that it's 7pm AEST. I'm at work still and WA time, not a chance to get home in time to install it and redeem it :(

  • I use the free version to clone and swap my normal hard drive to a SSD. Works great!

  • I'm getting activation failed? What did I done wrong?

  • Very helpful program. It took two and a half days to recover 3.05Tb of data from a 320Gb drive with this program.
Yes, it is correct. The drive is 320Gb, recovered data was 3.05Tb.

  • +1

    Still able to activate.

  • The redemption of the generic code is over. But activating the code itself should be fine at anytime.

  • +1

Thanks. I was still able to activate.

    • same

    Still working …

  • Thankfully the code is still working. Had this project on the back burner far too long.

    • Good to know.
