How come Big W hardly have online sales? Almost all their deals are in-store only. Marketing tactic (to get people to visit their stores) or they just can't be bothered?

Their stores are an unorganized mess, how on earth could they run an online shop?

      • +4

It's unfortunate that such a well-known chain store can't facilitate an online shop in this day and age of internet era, whereas small, family-owned businesses run online shops rather seamlessly and perfectly.

        • +2

Its not that can't, its rather they don't want to.

    • Their online store is run by a different business, they reorganised a few years back. Not a Big W online store anymore, just a generic third party store with the Big W logo.

I am interested if anyone can find any of them items.

I like Pricehipster and I know the creator is an ozbargainer, it is a good site and I have found bargains there previously, but too often there are items that are impossible to get but get upvoted here because the price is good, but in reality nobody can actually buy any of the items.

      Very True.

    • Agreed. Love Pricehipster.
Inclusion of stock levels within radius of post code would be the ultimate feature.
But only possible where stores offer this feature online… and even then I would imagine quite difficult to integrate.

  • And worse part is if you do find it and order it online and then change your mind or does not fit, they make you pay postage to return it. They will not accept it at a Big W store even if the same item is sold in the store Joke!

Yes, because much of their online stock (particularly mens items) are supplied through their partner Ezibuy, who have their own terms and conditions.

Mens clothes at Big W are absolutely awful, womens in comparison are quite decent and great value on sales like this

Have to disagree with you there. Not all their stuff is awful.

Quite a few of my clothes have come from Big W over the years, and I am more than happy with them, especially the Slazenger sportswer, like track suit pants, sweat tops, shorts, etc.

Yes, it is cheap and cheerful, and you can't expect much for the price. However, I am not hard on clothes, most stuff I buy lasts for years with me. But I don't slavishly follow fashion, so that's not relevant to me.

I buy clothes for comfort, and appearance. I want to look decently dressed, and tidy when I am out. Just be be fair, I am retired, so no longer need good business clothes, which I used to buy at Myer sales etc. back then.

Have picked up some good bargains on the throw out tables, and very happy with my purchases.

Hate to think how much the poor people in the sweatshop were paid to sew the clothes…

  • At the Emerson Tees and Active Training Pants there is no information of the material the stuff is made of - not good enough.

You will hardly find stock at any stores but with this kind of offers for sale people do visit them and end up buying something which is anyway Normal price!!!!

    It's a marketing tactics

  • bought some kids shoes for $2 pair at Dapto store last night, reduced from $19. none of the $2 clothing items left there though

  • In-store is a better deal as well. Online is $9.90 delivery or free click and collect for orders $40 and higher.

  • Bought 2 pack of Emerson boxer at $2.00 (that's a dollar each). Original price was $15.00.
It has a clearance price for $7.00 but when I scan it's $2.00.
