It says it must be activated by 1st May 2016 so i would assume that's the SIM card activate by expiry date?.
I'm pretty sure you can activate it later but you won't get the extra data.
EDIT: Whoops, changed my mind, probably not.
It says must be activated by 01/05/2016 so one may assume that might be the SIM card activation by expiry date. It's a bit confusing the way Optus has it.
without extra data doesn't matter just want to stock up some.
@superforever: it's just the expiry of the extra data offer not for the sim. So you can go ahrad and stock them for later use.

You have to port out using $2 sim from another provider and then port back in.
I bought 6x Optus and 7x Vodafone $30 Sim starter packs, when they were on special, which would last for Full One Year.
So, how I do it, I activate Vodafone $30 first month and then port to Optus by using Optus $30 Sim starter pack and then next month back to Vodafone and then Optus month after and it continues…..

I have bought these before, and good.If you are on prepaid, ring Optus, tell them u bought this in error of a recharge voucher, and they will swap it across…they did for me anyhow!!

Recharges made after 1 May 2016 will revert to standard data inclusion for that recharge."So that's the double data in this case.
The only simcards worth stocking on any shelf are those not prefixed with expiries altogether,(Vodafone) or& perhaps, years away expiry (telstra)..those'll either fund content-or not expire. Mindful the optus expire in several months.
