    • How many blenders do you have?

      • +1

a few. Always good to have a few spares

        • +1

          Do they break easily?

        • @GameChanger:

          they are actually very sturdy

        • @easternculture: Might get one. Is there something bit more expensive that better or this good value for money?

        • @GameChanger:

i think its the best you can get for the money @ 700 watts of power

        • +1

          @GameChanger:
we have a $15 Kmart special that works pretty good, I am betting this is a lot better though (700w vs our one of 3000w)

        • +1

          @PVA: Err…did you mean 300w?

        • +1

@easternculture: At 700W of input energy which isn't the same as kinetic energy created.

I have seen some figures on this site that seemed to suggest the two things are not very well correlated on some appliances.

        • +1

          @elektron:

          yes 300w.

        • +1

@PVA: Thanks for that information, at double the power this one should do quite well I imagine.

With so many versions out there it's confusing.
Nutri-Ninja Slim, Nutri-bullet 900, Magic Bullet and Nutri-Ninja PRO, which one is signinficantly better?

    • Compare wattage to price ratio's and you will get your answer

      • How is comparing the amount of electric power they consume divided by the price telling you anything meaningful?

        • +2

Does a car with 100kw of power perform the same as one with 200kw assuming they have similar weight

    • +1

Nutri- Ninja models from 700W & higher can break ice better and last longer. I have seen a few magic bullet and other brands come back due to breaking down after few uses cause they couldn't handle ice.

  • Will JB Price match?

  • the rubber seal is not supposed to be cleaned?

  • +1

I got this from Target for $20 a couple of months ago. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but the reviews are all very positive and it seems to crush ice with no issues despite the much weaker motor (300 watts I think).

What exactly does this Ninja do that the Target blender doesn't, given that it's still twice the price even on special?

    • +2

The style and shape of the blade in terms of how it breaks things down easier, and your target one may break ice but it wouldn't be able to sustain it for sure as long as a Ninja one could.

    • +2

      Nothing at all.

Some people swallow the marketing for pointlessly overpowered blenders for some reason and will make up any old rubbish to justify the cost (usually after they've bought it as no one likes to feel like a foolish rube) as you can see from the other reply. He actually thinks being able to run it for longer than necessary is a valuable feature to have lel.

Their mindset is simple: more electrical power in equals vague benefits that aren't really explained. Even though electrical power in does not mean something is more powerful. Swallowed the marketing Kool-aid.

Meanwhile other people are happily crushing ice with their 5 year old 200W blender that they paid 30 bucks for.

      • Never said anything about watt power mate, I know they don't. I use to work at a good guys store, I know damn well how naive some people are with the amount of customers who always asked about watts power between brands.

The guy above simply asked the difference, not which was better and I answered what was the case, and when I mean their cheaper one wouldn't last long in terms of the blades wearing out sooner than a Ninja's one would.

        • It stands to reason though that a more powerful motor will last longer than a weaker motor as it doesn't have to work as hard to get the same results. How this translates into real world use is another story.

    • +1

i got a similar one to this from kmart for $15. it makes great smoothies, crushes ice fine.
Smoothies are like banana or green type ones with ice.
I havent tried harder vegies like carrot or nuts for example - I really doubt it would be good for that.

$40 for this ninja for a 700w motor is pretty good though and I would choose it over the kmart/target one if I was looking to buy I think.

  • +1

Can we make carrot or orange juice on this one? Or better to go for the juicers that magically remove the outer skin and juice them. Any juicer youse would recommend?

  • These are ideal for single / couples

Thank u OP. Bought one to replace my 300watt Amazing bullet which is on its way out.

  • Thanks OP. Bought one and got a call to pick up.

  • +1

Decent deal, grabbed one in store for 38 bucks

  • I picked up this model about 3 months ago using Christmas gift cards for JB HiFI, it's been going strong ever since and I make daily breakfast smoothies. granted no ice though. I believe the blade shaft has gained a bit of a vertical movement now which makes a noise when it slides up and down as you tip over the cup. I only noticed this in the last 4 weeks or so, maybe it did it since new and I never noticed it. Overall, fantastic little unit and I would easily recommend them.

    • I'll buy one and let u know if it happens when new

  • +1

I don't know if anyone else has noticed the horrible design and smell from using this thing daily, just a heads up if you want to clean it properly you will need a very fine pick to dislodge and clean the seal after every use. I posted a thread about this in the forums not long ago.

    • how often do you use it daily? thousands use it daily with no smell. you may have a faulty one. also the one you refer to in your forum post is the $160-200 version with AIQ, not this lower tier one.

      • We use it once a day. It may be that no one has bothered to take a whiff of their blade lid. If I'm not mistaken the design of the AIO one is similar to this. Look at a display the next time you're in a store and you will see what I mean about the inaccessibility of the seal - there is no way to clean the seal without removing it completely.

        • I have the same problem, my family uses it everyday but when my kids mix up chocolate shakes some of them don't clean it out thoroughly you get that smell. Being kids, some of the chocolate powder gets under the seal and they don't rinse the blade or cups straight after using it and when it's not cleaned straight away or properly it leaves that smell. So if you clean it straight after you use it you shouldn't have that problem, and if it smells get the seal out and give it a thorough cleaning as well as the inside the rim of the blades where the seal sits. Other than that and the fact it's a bit noisy, it's a good powerful unit for what ever quick shakes you need to whip up.

    • Just purchased. I'll see how I go and report back. I use my current mixer twice a day.

Minister of War and Finance has a bigger Blender but says she needs something else to chop up nuts, ice, frozen berries etc? The blender doesn't cut them fine enough or something? SO these little babies mince frozen berries, ice, nuts etc to a fine grade ?

    • +1

My $20 ALDI smoothie maker does this, and it's only 300w. The benefit behind these Ninja's and those in similar size is the smaller capacity when blending. I think your shit moves around quite a bit in a regular blender and your blades can't get to everything.

      • Totally agree the blender we have Is too big. 40 bucks its nothing may as well give it a go, unless other come out off a sudden and say they are sh!t !

    • no idea about nuts but our $15 kmart special blends up ice , yougurt and frozen berries into a perfect smoothie

  • Is it just me, or do you get a $20 TGG voucher every time you fill in the "customer feedback survey" they send you after you do a Click & Collect. I'm on my third voucher in two months..

After getting all the Russell Hobbs Colour Control appliances with vouchers, and my Fitbit Alta (overcharged, 30 day price pay back from TGG $12), I just got this blender for $7.95.

That being said, I don't even need this Nutri Ninja yet. My Aldi brand "LUMINA Smoothie Maker" is only 300w and works a treat! I smash that thing twice a day. Has no problem with ice or frozen bananas. Also came with 3 cups and was only $19.99. I'd definitely repurchase when ALDI releases it again. I've had mine for over 12 months now.

I'm literally a blender hoarder. Still have the Colour Control blender and stick mixer sitting in their boxes.

Smoothie life. The next thing I need is a juicer.

    • Wow, wonder if this is worth a try ? Anyone else use click and collect and get a $20 TGG voucher everytime ?

This was in January, but give it a shot. Got the voucher in February, a few days later.
