Holy crap the way prices are going I'm never going to use my QFF points. Their taxes are about the same as these fares.
    Incredible deal!

I know, $737 to NYC is crazy! I checked right through to payment and it is legit.

      • +3

        Insane! Have an upvote!

        • What is happening?! I thought I got the deal of the year with the $990 Virgin fares to Newark!

        • Thanks :) Appreciated.

      • +1

Catch is, they put you on a Boeing 737

  • The "Dep. 18/Oct Ret. 01/Nov $793" to NY from SYD seems to have gone back up to $860.

EDIT: Nope gone back to $793

  • Wtf. Crazy….

  • Just booked a flight to Zurich that cost nearly double. At least it's with SQ…

  • The cheap Thai Airways flights appear to be exclusive to STA Travel and is being marketed as a "Blue Ticket"for full time students and under 30s. Anyone know what happens if an over 30 non-student was to purchase one of these fares?

    • +8

      Hi piggybank,

Our agreement with STA Travel is that they only supply us with fares for Adults (so 26+, non students allowed). That said, you are correct that the fares on STA Travel are marked with their "Blue Ticket" which is meant for students & under 30s.

So I went right through the booking process and entered a birthdate that was older than 40 years, and there was no adjustment to the ticket price. So it looks like it is fine.

I'll contact STA Travel about this for clarification.

    • +3

STA Travel has gotten back to me, and the fares are ok to book by anyone (the blue ticket branding is incorrect). Here is what they had to say:

Yes these shouldn’t be pulling through as ‘Blue Tickets’ they are valid fares for OTA just some reason have this tag, the rules etc. will be the same so no real problem just branding it as a blue ticket is wrong.
I have flagged this to our loading team to sort out.

  • Sorry to ask, but any good deals to Europe in July (preferably from Adelaide to Berlin?)

  • +1

Woof, add a second person and an infant… $3000 or thereabouts.

Dank kids! (Supposed to be damn, but that's such a great suggestion I'm going to stick with it!)

  • +1

Awesome. Thanks again for sharing IWTF!

    • +1

I want a photo from Europe this time! :)

      • +1

        Haha leave it with me!

  • holy crap they're some cheap prices. good spotting, and happy travels to anyone picking up a bargain :D

  • +2

Sydney to Toronto for $867 just came up, so I have added it to the deal.

    • Better book your leave today!

  • +2

Ok these prices are crazy. I need to check the dollar. I always lose my shit over cheap flights but then forget about all the other money i need to spend 😅

    • +1

Same mate, got myself a flight to NYC for under $1k return but any decent hotels are $250+ per night…

      • +3

airbnb. private room $80/night, whole apt $150/night. and you have access to a kitchen to cook your own cheap meals!

        • Not for the dates I intend to travel…and nowhere near Brooklyn or midtown (Staten Island no thanks).

    • New York was expensive when our dollar was high. Now it's plain ridiculous.

I can't believe people pay $100 to sleep in a dorm on a mid-week nothing day! If money's an issue you'd have to book the few sub-$50 hostel or airbnb beds well in advance.

  • Hi rep! Very good prices! Any good deals planned to come up for flights from Sydney to milan end of July. Return 3 weeks later ?

Same period for Manchester would be nice!

    Cheers!!

  • +1

    Ok - some more found:
Sydney to Washington $737 Return, Denver $737 Return, Dallas $761 Return.

  • Hi rep,

    Great deal.

Any cheap flights from sydney to japan(Tokyo?) early September?

    Cheers

  • Any to LAX or SFO? So silly that flying longer is cheaper!

  • anything cheap to amsterdam in sept?

  • Damn. I wish there was something with this price for Perth - Gothenburg and in june. This is really cheap.

    • Book these and add a low cost carrier ticket at the Swedish end. It's not like there are direct flights anyway.
Or its a 3.5hr train from Copenhagen under $50.

      • Yea there's also trains from Stockholm that takes just over 3 hours but unfortunately these flights are the wrong dates for me. Maybe next time :-)

  • Guys,

I've been quoted $1280 for return flights to NYC from 22nd June to 9th July, does anyone know if this can be bettered or how I can get better prices?

  • +1

Holy Moley! from 750 to the U.S. - I would never see such a price. Do you think American airlines are having capacity issues? - is is this simply a lure for Aussies to spend up and boost the economy? I guess with the big U.S. airlines now calling Australia (United, American, Delta) and with Air NZ, Qantas and Virgin - that competition is fierce.

    Better for the consumer.

Great deal by iwantthatflight yet again!

  • +1

Thai Air prices to Scandinavia are probably to combat the Norwegian Air Dreamliner route that goes to Bangkok, low cost carrier but great reviews. I was looking at a Premium seat BKK-OSLO return the other day, it's about $1500

  • Anything from Sydney to Larnaca departing 31st Aug/1st Sep and returning 23/24 Sep?

  • Awesome work again, Rep!!

Any good deals for specifically these date from Brisbane (or gold coast) to Fiji? - Leave 10 Nov, return 18 Nov

  • +1

Thanks massively for this one. Just booked flights back to the UK for 2 weeks in June. Can't wait.

    • Hope you have a great trip!

If you have a moment when you are over there, we'd love it if you took a photo for us like http://imgur.com/7ntpA9Z

  • Any deals from BNE to New York or even Calgary? Anywhere in North America?

  • Hey IWTF, is there any way to search the flexible dates for fares other than economy?

    • Unfortunately, no.

This is something we are working on (as well as a much better flexible search) so look for something in the next few weeks.

      • Cool! Good to know! I'm looking out for good PE fares to the US. Sometimes the cheap Y fares line up with equally cheap PE, but not always…

  • Similarly, is there a way to search for open jaw flights? I might just be being blind but the search capability seems to require flying in/out of the same city?

  • +1

Thanks OP! Booked a spontaneous trip :)

  • +1

Thanks IWantThatFlight! my parents had an emergency that required them to get to Toronto, this has saved us heaps!!

  • Damn the Toronto flights are awesome but i need to go back in early October coming back mid late Jan, any deals there?

  • Wow, insane prices!!! Thanks for sharing. I see that the NYC flights are via LA, any way to add a layover without adding hundreds to the cost of the flight?

    • +1

Know how you feel. Gotta stop for an In-N-Out burger

    • Any way to just not board the second flight - works out $80 cheaper than flying to LA anyways

      • Don't do this, your next legs will be cancelled automatically and you'll be stranded.

  • Great prices

  • Thanks for the deal gonna book something later today!
Should i be worried about being redirected to ZUJI to book? There seems to be negative reviews online but so does every 3rd part website I've looked at too. Just wondering if anyone has any tips of feedback before I pull the trigger :)

  • I can't seem to add a child (age 9 ), when I go through to STA to book, there's no option to change the number of travelers, it's stuck on 1.

    Any clues?

  • why hasn't there been any specials posted with air canada? they have cheap flights to NY in peak season, even cheaper in off peak.

we are going in december and it's $1100 run including stopover in vancouver. 1 free stopover and an extra one for $135. If we had more time we would do an extra stopover. that's so cheap for december.
i got flight centre to price beat. there are so many routing options through canada and i needed the quickest route. was going to stop in calgary but changed after i realised it's -10deg in the rockies.

$1100 for a week in ny and a week skiing in whistler is cheaper than falls creek. whistler has 2b apts in early season for only $150 p/n!

    • Hi,

Air Canada is cheap but I cant find the option for the stopover in Vancouver? :s

  • Crazy deals. What's Vietnam airlines to London like?
