Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 Pro DXII $515 Delivered from E-Infinity

70

Cheapest grey stock shipped from Hong Kong that I could find. I ordered and it arrived in 2 days via FedEx.

This model has been superceded by the 11-20mm lens but that's $669 for the Nikon mount.

Obviously any warranty claims will probably be a nightmare and I believe they only repair not replace in HK.

Comparable local stock price was $719 at DCW http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/prod13683.htm

This is the best value crop body wide lens on the market.

for Canons, the 10-18 is pretty damn good even though it's f4.5 and only around $300

  • Just had a chat this morning about this lens. This is good price.

  • This model has been superceded by the 11-20mm lens but that's $669 for the Nikon mount.

    $619 delivered from DWI

    • I've got both and FYI you can use the 11-16 on full frame at 16, not so the 11-20. Also the 11-20 takes 82mm filters and is a bit heavier. Both are sharp

  • This is such an awesome lens. Love my one and have used it so much. Highly recommended.

  • For crop sensor only?

    • Yes DX/crop lens only. But supposedly you can use at 15-16mm on full frame cameras with minor vignetting.

      Correct.

If using full frame look into the Samyang 14mm 2.8 (unless you want to pay $2k + for some of the Canon/Nikon UWA lenses)

  • Ths is an excellent piece of glass for the price, the best out there for DX. I would say, better than with Nikon's own 12-24 f4 DX. got mine for ~USD550 years ago. It's still going strong and even after I upgraded to FX, using this at far end for landscapes and it excels at that.

  • Can also recommend this lens… fantastic bang for buck.

  • Just incase someone is interested in Canon mount. Here is what I found

    https://www.camerasky.com.au/tokina-at-x-116-pro-dx-ii-11-16…

    $473 + shipping.

    • I was looking at camerasky when i was grabbing my 11-16 but read reviews and steared clear

      • I didn't know that, just a quick search though. They also have Nikon mount but with $24 shipping which added up more than than this deal. Thanks for letting me know, was thinking about getting one.

      • Ive ordered 1 lens off them before, no issues with delivery speed or lens.

        • Thats good to hear.
I was just looking off the regular whirlpool threads about them.
Good to hear you have a good experience though

      • Yeah after reading the reviews on Camerasky looked a bit too dodgy. Plus they price their products with large shipping costs so they appear to be the cheapest supplier.

The full frame equivalent is the 16-28. Makes no sense to buy this for full frame.

  • Good price for a very good lens (for DX).

  • Did anyone end up getting this deal? I'm actually looking at a different lens from the same website (E-Infinity), the EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens for $353 delivered. Just wanted to see if they are a reliable seller?

    • It seems to be $335 delivered from T-Dimension

Keep in mind this has been as cheap as $290 from Kogan during a previous eBay sale.
