Would you like to list at least one specific item that you consider to be a bargain?

      Hi

      Sure

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KENWOOD-KFC-E1665-6-5-300W-FRONT-…
buy 2 get $ 10 off ( total savings over RRP is $70)

      fusion HL02
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FUSION-HL-02-LINE-LEVEL-HIGH-LEVE…

buy two get $10 off = 25% off usual price

10% off Orion & Rockford fosgate ( already discounted off RRP this is a further 10% off)

there are heaps of things on there the thing to bare in mind is this is a discount on our already low prices, its not 10% off RRP its 10% off our lowest price and 90% of the time we are the cheapest on ebay for almost all car audio products.

      many thanks

First item I checked: PIONEER GM-D9601

        Your price: AU $298.85

        Amazon Price: US$165.90 - 166.00 USD = 225.09 AUD

        No thanks, but no thanks.

        • HI !

yes it is true you can get parts from the US cheaper than you can get them here there are a few things to take into consideration tho.
          1. our products come with full pioneer australia warranty.
          2. our products come inclusive of shipping and tax
          3. if you have an issue with your unit, its serviced usually by a pioneer service agent in your local area
          4. all units shipped from us are fully insured, against loss OR damage
          5. we ship 6 days a week, and our standard delivery overnight to every major city on the east coast.
          6. we support local jobs, we employee real Australians, pay rent to a real Australian based owner, pay our bills to pioneer australia keeping your money here in our economy, and supporting our local industry.

          so lets just recap,

i found the listing that you where looking at

          http://www.amazon.com/PIONEER-GM-D9601-Digital-Class-Watts/d…

          you will notice the following
" This item does not ship to Australia. Please check other sellers who may ship internationally."

          this one will :

          http://www.amazon.com/PIONEER-GM-D9601-Digital-Computer-Elec…

ok so its $262.69 ( shipping time is May 25 to June 3 thats actually from their shipping area) and then there is GST when it gets here

262.69 x 10% GST = $288.98 thats if there is no hidden fees, so you may have foreign exchange fees on your credit card, ( usually 2% ish) but i wont put this in there.

best best case scenario, with ZERO extra charges from your bank or the seller, in the USA your landed cost will be $288.98 and our price after the discount is $293.85. so you have ACTUALLY SAVED $4.87

and for that $4.87 saving you get form your international seller you get
          1.ZERO WARRANTY
          2.NO SHIPPING INSURANCE
          3.NO AFTER SALES SUPPORT.

the reality is we go above and beyond to service out clients, and i know that people "think" they are getting it cheaper overseas but when you do the maths how much are you really saving ? and is it worth the wait, the lack of support and zero warranty to save 1.6% ?

we are here to answer any questions about any products we sell so please feel free to get in touch with us.

          @Supercheapeverything:

I bought I Pioneer amp a few years ago.I got it at a scout's garage sale with no provenance. It was a 1960's (?)Stereomaster SMB-160 dual am tuner valve amp. I emailed Pioneer in Japan regarding it. Three days later I received a manila foolscap envelope from Melbourne apologising for their lack of any manuals or further information, but containing the complete circuit diagram noting diagnostic points and values.

That's why I chose Pioneer - they support their stuff as best they can. I chose the Amazon price as a real world price - Ozbargainers mainly know the trivial and legitimate steps needed to receive " not for shipment to Australia" items from Amazon,.
Had you post been a bargain, I wouldn't have bothered. When it is a page of big red signs yelling " 10% off Bargain" ect with nary a price in sight, I will check it out.

Forgive me. When something waddles across my lawn, is covered in feathers, has a face similar to a platypus, makes a honking noise then starts paddling in the creek, I will often with no further evidence or research, assume it is a duck.

          Enjoy Ozbargain.

you really cant compare prices from an OS store to a local aussie one. i know amazons delivery and backup etc are very good but still not the same as buying locally

this is ozbargain, we don't believe in exaggerated Rrp's.

          Hi !

at the end of the day each deal will not suit for each individual, the offers are fair not just in comparison RRP but also in comparison to the market prices for the various products, you need to consider the total cost, what you are trying to achieve and what you are willing to outlay.

for example, you walk into a car audio shop you see an amp you want to buy, and the RRP is $2700, the guy in the store says "hey ill cut you a deal $2200" you then go online, you see the same amp from the same supplier for $1700, and then you see we have a coupon for a further 10% off so you have just $670 over what you would have paid in store ..

to me thats a bargain, there is a difference between a bargain, and just a silly expectations of what something is worth.

its like the person who wants a Lamborghini and says " ill give you $20,000 for it" well really your not in the market for a Lamborghini are you ? your really in the market for a corolla ..

        • +2

It's funny the amount of businesses that try to take advantage of OzBargains massive audience only to post some deal that isn't even a deal. There's too many savvy bargain hunters, that will pretty quickly shoot it down in flames.

the splits i just bought were the cheapest local i could find anywhere. like you said some people arent really in the market anyway, i was so i jumped on it.

        • @Supercheapeverything:
so, i have installed these in my car but i have an annoying… what i can best describe as a crackle in the left side. i thought it was just the tweeter but changed them from side to side and the crackle still stayed on hte left hand channel. it really only happens at low volume. these replaced pineer 2 ways and its a reasonably new pioneer mp3 deck and it wasnt making the noise with the previous 2ways. i cant hear any noise from the woofer only the tweeter. have you got any recommendation for what i should do to try and work out whats actually causing the issue?

        • @nosdan:

Always the same reason that ads only mention the discount and not final price

After sales support is always exaggerated ,just because you might have some one to pick the phone doesn't mean they are not going to tell you that you need to send it overseas or charge an unusually exaggerated amount to fix it.

Vendor in title please. It should not take 3 years of membership to discover that is required.

too busy concentrating on the negative comments lol
