The Hystou boxes looks like a cool alternative to a NUC.

    • Agreed. I'm waiting for a good price on one of those. :)

  • I don't know why they make these things, bought something similar in a deal while back out of curiosity. 2GB RAM is dismal for any Windows experience.

    • Intel discontinued the Atom, and they have tons of it left?

    • I guess they're just for running one program at once, eg. Plex client, browser with one tab open for streaming video, etc?

Spend an extra ~$15-20 to save an extra ~$13.50.

  • I just got the Wintel z8300 under another name and I'm amazed by it.

A strong alternative to a NUC and it has USB3. I've got it running CP, deluge, Kodi as a player and a DLNA server with a 2TB USB3 disk attached to it powered off the USB port and it works perfectly. The only issue I have is Kodi downsampling DTS audio to 2ch, but that's a config issue, not a hardware issue.

Even comes with a mounting bracket which is VESA standard so that you can attach it to the back of a monitor.

Highly recommend this over the Z3735F, which I have in a Chuwi tablet and it's not as fast and is missing the USB3.

    • Reports and tests giving them same level of productivity, just different consumption. Are you sure about speed?

      • I'm comparing apples with oranges, as one is a tablet and the other a mini pc, however the mini PC definitively had better graphics speed and the USB 3 makes it a no brainier.
