    Thanks water.

  • -5

Think of it as a 'Free glass bottle with bonus 375ml of water!'.

    • +52

No it's a $2 bottle with free water.

      • +19

That comment was due to a mixture of being tired and the inner OzBargain in me that wants everything to be free.

          Hav a + :)

I love these, they're are so practical! I especially love the sound of them smashing into a million piece when someone knocks them out onto the carpark when they're getting out of their car.

    • +7

Better a bit of glass in the carpark than a bit of cancer in the belly.

        BPA FREEE SON

      • +1

Because there's a lot of cancer everywhere due to plastic bottles used for drinking water.

        • -1

BPA is believed to be associated with breast cancer, for example.

        • @teach86:

I'll show you mine if you show me yours.

      • -1

There are literally hundreds of BPA-free options before buying a stupidly impractical glass bottle.

        • +1

Been using them for years and never broke one. Use them everyday. Nothing beats drinking out of glass. That's why you don't go to the bar and order a whisky in a plastic beaker.

        • +1

          @FatBlanket:

Touché, I approve of Voss being served in bars.

For any practical or portable water storage solutions, it is a total and utter wankfest.

        • Sure, we know about BPA now. But what if another form of cancer causing plastic by-product is leaching into the water that we don't know of?
At least you know what you're getting with glass.

        • @mmd: reusable stainless steel water bottles all the way.

      What is this, Reddit?

  • Does anyone know the approx weight of an empty Voss bottle ? Or able to suggest an bpa free plastic bottle ?

    • I don't think the weight of the bottle is what causes the majority of bottled water carbon footprint

      • Maybe the questioner wants to take it in carry-on luggage.

You meant to disclose associated for transparency

  • Pretty sure I'm not the only one who buys this for the bottle :)

    Nope ;D

I got the larger one from woolies for about $3.50 a year ago. Nice bottle.

dropped one at work ~ its not pretty having to clean it up….

get a nalgene bottle…. best one i've ever owned

    • yep… I feel your pain.

wanted to chill my water quickly once, chucked it in the freezer, ended up forgetting about it.

I'm pretty sure there is still glass shards in the freezer….

      • I know your pain :))

  • +3

375 ml doesn't cut it. 800ml bottle is better , not on special.

  • what's wrong with the 70 cent bottles of water they sell at coles?
I buy water to drink, not to make a fashion statement.

  • +6

you could buy a glass jar of jam and drink water out of that. That way you get to eat the jam as well.

    • +4

Or use an empty wine bottle with a screw top lid.

      • Haha I used to do that at work and get weird stares. It was an amber clean skin bottle, so ppl thought I was boozing.
        Then I discovered Voss!

        • +1

I had this thermos bottle with a flip top sippy lid that I got from Japan. It was one litre. I used it for ages but then I lost one of the little o-rings. Ive never been able to find one since. Either they have the traditional stopper or they are not big enough.

I can't believe this has a 1000 clicks. Do people actually pay this for water?

FYI folks. If you don't like the taste of tap water in Oz put it in a bottle (cleaned 3L milk will do) and let it sit overnight with the cap sitting loose on top - to keep the bugs out. The chlorine (Bris) will evaporate and the water tastes as good as anything out of a bottle ever did. You could even fill your empty Voss bottle with it and nobody would know it wasn't Voss water.

    • I bought it for the glass bottle (800ml one), drinking the water.. I couldn't tell the difference between Voss water and the water out of the tap (gold coast).

      • Get a filter son, then you couldn't taste the difference between tap water that's been filtered and marketed as pure water @ $3/600ml and GC tap water.
We've had water filters for years and even 'good' tap water from interstate and other countries all taste less palatable.

    • Many people just buy it for the bottle (I bought 800ml one for that reason). It's one of the cheaper ways of getting a glass bottle.

  • Bought one for the bottle only so I can refill at work. The water inside is rubbish, though. Honestly, my filtered tap water at home tastes better. Still good for $2 for a water bottle though.

  • did Andrew vossy voss start this company or Michael lions voss?

You are excellent at getting BO out, I appreciate your work, Biozet.

  • The 800ml sparkling bottle normal price is $2.90 at Coles.

    • +3

      It's $5 normal price for 800ml

      • I just looked it up online and you are correct, $5.50 actually.
I saw it today at Coles in Dee Why Grand & there was no special ticket on the shelf, just a standard label saying $2.90.
Bugger, I should of bought one.

  • had this bottle with me during an exam. Placed it standing under my desk, and I accidentally knocked it over… water and glass everywhere

tip: dont take it into an exam. Fortunately, it happened towards the end of the paper, and I managed to clear up the glass without too many people noticing.

  • I love the bottle, i have one in my office

  • Thanks, bought 3 bottles

  • I buy this for the water. I love it. Thought I feel i have bought same on my oz-bargainer family

  • For people arguing why someone buy these bottles. I have one, the larger one, that I refill with filtered tap water everyday to drink in my car. The bottle is 1.5 year old and counting. For that amount of time, I would normally have reused at least 10 plastic bottles, if I am careful enough.

Pros: Good investment if you want something glassy to hold your water. Looks nice.

Cons: Cold water gets to room temperature quicker than plastic bottle. Easy to break if not careful.

  • 800ml sparkling version is currently on sale at Woolworths for $3.70

  • Go to buy this for the first time and the shelf is bare. I must admit, i'm beginning to see more and more people with Voss bottles around the office.
