  • Great find!

Is this the same one as the previous post ( http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/24341 ) at $1197? Wow massive price reduction in just a week.

Please help me decide. Which one is better guys?
    This one
    or the
    Sony 40" KDL40EX500 2010 Model LCD TV - $1071 at Myer - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/24370

  • 20% off plasma & LCD TVs and hi-fi & home theatre systems (Excludes MVM, Bose, Sony, Clearance and 3D TVs). with double shopping credits on myer one card on saturday 24/4. could you combine the two offers. ($978 - 20% = $782.40) that would make it even cheaper.

    • It's a crazy crazy bargain if it's another 20% off at $782.40.

    • Where is this double shopping credit on Myer One card thing?

    • +1

Woah!! No way!! $780 for the series 6 40" is just too cheap.

    • lol
(Excludes MVM, Bose, Sony, Clearance and 3D TVs)
      that's probably under clearance so…

  • Do you know what sparky is talking about when he mentioned "double shopping credits on myer one card"? I don't really get that..

    • I think he's referring to this offer here - http://catalogues.myer.com.au/portal/offerdetails/plasma-lcd-tvs-dvd-recorders-players-set-top-boxes-hi-fi-home-theatre-systems-and-entertainment-cabinets/12698385649969?CatalogueID=12692128942730&tab=list&N=4294924703+37&Ns=OfferOnPage|0&source=productl

      • Yeah. I saw that long time ago. Wheres the 20%? It would be $978 - 15% = $831 assuming they would even take 15% off that already special price…

        • and
          additional 10% for Myerone members(http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/24291))
Its free to get myerone card and one can sign up at the store.

But not sure if this has expired..

          Info took from http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/24370

          • @lauthor: Thanks lauthor. I get it now. I think they have to send you the offer so that only you can use it (not everyone). I signed up to myerOne online a few days ago. I haven't received any offers from them yet. Would be nice to have that additional 10% off. Damn.

  • Good Guys did the same special a couple of weeks ago , clearing old stock as new stock is arriving now

  • Dick Smith had this for $949

  • I'll be there at 9am. just in case a lot of people already queued there :P

  • Is the LA40C650 (C series) the newer series? What are the new features and add-ons of the C series?

  • Keep In mind you get a free blu-ray player and sound system with the new Model

    http://samsung-customer-rewards.com.au/3DTV/

    • Its not a free blu-ray player and sound system.

If you buy a qualifying series 5 or 6 model you can claim the sound system.

If you buy a qualifying series 7 or 8 model you can claim the blu-ray player.

      • The price of this TV on special + Blue Ray system will still be cheaper than the cost of the new series…?

      • But it says the Home Theatre System, and the image seems to have the Blue Ray Player along with the speakers

        • The items in question are

If you buy a qualifying series 5 or 6 model you can claim the sound system, which appears to be the Samsung HT-C5500

          http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/tv-audio-video/home-theat…

This does indeed have the ability to play DVD's and Blu-ray's according to its specification.

However if you buy a qualifying series 7 or 8 model you can claim the blu-ray player, which appears to be a unreleased Samsung Blu-ray player featuring Blu-Ray 3D capabilities and comes with 3D glasses.

The only one they list on their site is the Samsung BD-C6900, which is only $599, not the RRP price of $899 mentioned in the "Score A Bonus Gift" promotion, hence making me believe they have a new model about to come out.

          http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/tv-audio-video/blu-ray-pl…

          • @klif-e: I was at David Jones Chermside yesterday and got my first taste of 3dtv. There's a display of the new series 7 LED TV with Monsters vs Aliens running off the new Samsung 3d bluray player. Asked the sales guy for a demo and OMG does it look amazing. Worth the inconvenience of having to wear the glasses IMO. The TV can even simulate 3d from any other 2d source but the results were very weird.

EDIT: Player was on sale too. $599 before 15% off.

          • @klif-e: When they say 899 it includes the 2x 3D classes, the C6900 Does not come with 3D Glasses.

            • @addo: TV comes with a 3d starter pack free that includes the blu-ray disc and a pair of glasses. I was told that each pair of glasses is 99 bucks.

      • the LA40C650 = Samsung 40" 100Hz LCD = 1499 RRP + 15% off at David Jones = $1275

and Claim a Free home ent system with blu-ray and 5.1 sound. valued at $799. even if you dont want the sound system I dont see why you cant sell it for 500$ which will take the LCD to below $800.

        • Hi Addo,

is David Jones having a 15% Sale at the moment on all TVs?

          • @thedondraper: Yes and No,

They were having 15% on all TVs untill today, however, Myer is currently having 15% in VIC and DJ is also willing to match that of JB. which is 10% off marked prices and thats around 16% from RRP.

also keep in mind this C Series has yet been shipped from samsung. so you will need to ask them to order.

  • I rang a Myer store in Sydney, he said it was $978, but he said no other offers can be used. Oh well, still a good deal!

  • Is it better to grab this deal or wait to see what price the new series will be?

  • Myer Perth (city store) are giving 10% off! So 880$ great deal
