    • Sign up for Freedom Plus offer and get an additional 5GB of data to use in Australia.
    • Thanks Updated

    • pretty sure Freedom Plus has no Bonus Data, which means it is only 1.5gb + 1.5gb (night/day)?

JB deal email says at bottom of page.

Freedom Plus offer and get an additional 5GB of Data to use in Australia

  • Does this need to be unlocked for use in other countries?

  • Has anyone gone through the process of unlocking phone with Telstra? If yes, whats involved?

  • I picked up the Optus one and it definitely didnt need unlocking… just as a heads up for those interested in a change in networks.
Still available now as of post time, and was delivered in like 48 hours (a day earlier than specified, a nice surprise).

But if your heart is set on Telstra, then OP's deal is obviously best.

Guys Heads up phones are locked just picked one up half an hour ago and it is locked, an unlocking fee is involved to get it unlocked. Only Post paid clients get it unlocked.

Plus when opened the box battery was fully drained, not sure is it good sign or bad i am thinking getting ripped off and loss of $399, donthing JBHiFi will do a refund on this argument.

  • Bagman can unlock your phone very cheap

  • Not prepaid at the moment, every where it is saying postpaid. For prepaid they asking to contact support.

  • You can unlock them by calling telstra. tell them that you bought the phone a while ago and didn;t use the sim that came with it. they will ask u for 25 fee and thats it. its best to get it unlocked from original seller than ebay code unlockers.

  • So you saying fee is $25 to get unlocked from Telstra.

  • Not sure if this is still working, worked on my Iphone 4s.
Rang Telstra, told them I bought a second hand Iphone 4s from a Telstra user but I was with Vodafone and needed to unlock it, then offered a friend's name and number (who was with Telstra, Edit: that was my landlord and used his sim card to test the phone), also told the IMEI, they unlocked it.

  • What's the process like returning something to JB? Will they issue a cash refund if I return it unopened?

  • ok so i was wondering about the OS longevity of these things. then i managed to block mesu.apple.com which is apples ios update server mabobbimajiggy thingo. so probs gonna buy this as a phone for my mum for her to use. ty op

  • Thanks, got one from OW with price match :)

  • Bought one from jb, mine was locked. I did the online live chat, they asked for my details (I'm a current long-standing telstraTelstra prepaid cushaver) gave them the imei, but then got cut off:(

Fortunately they seemed to have unlocked it cause it now works. No charge either :)
