  • Check out Comodo. Their protection-oriented software (several kinds) is free and reliable.

    • Yeah tried it once.. couldn't remove one of the trojans I had only Norton and PC Tools could :)

      Thanks anyway..

        Really?

I've found it reliable, and it always scores well. In any case, it's free, so if you already have Trojans you may as well see if it works before spending cash.

By all means spend the cash; I wouldn't bother with Norton, though — it's heavy, intrusive and expensive.

        • yeah Norton slows my PC too much… i tried Comodo and Avast right now and they say my PC is clean..

PC Tools came up with 24 spywares… cant be bothered to try Norton as I would never use it anyway..

PC tools are very good…i used free copy once…which i got it off my bank website …

    • And they are Australian owned :D

According to Wikipedia they have been acquired by Symantec (USA). Symantec have also previously acquired Norton, and Sygate (which I used to use — I wondered where it went.)

American owned, and "headquartered in Australia, with offices in USA, UK, Ireland and the Ukraine." Apparently, "PC Tools will maintain separate operations," though.

It's wise that they are keeping the two separate — big business tends to make very unwieldy software ("bloatware").

          Wow.. didnt know that.. :)

My ex used to work at their HO at North Syd and I thought it was Australian owned :)

neways… they are still good with whatever they do..hehe

  • Avast is the best and its free.
