Bought a Surface Pro 4 yesterday from Harvey Norman and realised it doesn't come with a Type Cover, HN has the Pro 3 Type Cover for $40, far cheaper than any other place I've seen.

Available in:
* Purple
* Red
* Blue

Limit of 1 per customer

This is a cheap alternative that is compatible with Surface Pro 4's, however, the Type Cover for the Surface Pro 4 has been improved:
* Trackpad 40% larger, made of glass
* Longer key travel

As per TheContact "The 4 has a larger screen, so the 3 Type Cover will cover a bit of it when folded with that little magnetic flap thing. Of course, you could just leave it flat, but you lose the stability."

You pay for what you get I guess.

    Hope you didn't buy one for your Pro 4. The 4 has a larger screen, so the 3 Type Cover will cover a bit of it when folded with that little magnetic flap thing. Of course, you could just leave it flat, but you lose the stability.

        I believe he means that the screen size is larger, not the overall dimensions. There's a magnetic flap thingy that would cover the bottom part of the screen when connected.

    Although the SP3 typecover is functionable, it has quite a bit of short comings. The major being the flex on the sp3 typecover when not used on a flat surface is enough to make the trackpad so annoyingly PITA to use.

    I reckon the sp4 typecover is a significant upgrade over the sp3's typecover. The upgrade alone will probably mend your frustrations over your disfunctional typecover relationship with your SP3.. and for some it will perhaps make you love the SP3 again!

    Overall is a much better experience function wise especially when you do quite a bit of reports & documentations. What is grouse about it… better trackpad, key spacings, but most of all the addition of the PRINT SCREEN buuutttttonnnnn (saves u from pressing WIN+FN+SPACE a few hundred times when u require to capture the screen that many times) haha.

      That's the understatement of the year. Using the sp3 version is an exercise in frustration.

    good spot! great price if you don't wanna pay for sp4 keyboard price.

    I wish the next surface 5 keyboard is everthing like sp4 keyboard plus bluetooth. coz i eventually had to buy one (bought logitech k380) as i frequently connect it to my tv.

    I hope they do clearance special for sp3 pen, i lost mine :(
