  • Do these games have any limitation in Australia?
It's not for me but for a relative so I don't anything about Playstation.

You need a US PSN account and the prices of the games are USD. I believe you can't use AU credit card for it so you will need to buy US PSN credit somewhere else and put it to the account and use it.

      • Have you done it?
I was thinking of using the Amazon credit card (don't have it yet) or any other source?

        • +1

You can buy US Store vouchers with an Aus credit card. Just need a fake US address. I think I use 1 First Street, New York. They are sent immediately and you just add them to your wallet.

I've purchased in US PS store for many times. Just buy PlayStation Store Gift Card Digital Codes with your AU credit card and redeem them in your US PSN account.

Thanks guys your information is very valuable.
But are we talking about PS4 right, because I think that for PS3 users things might be different.

          @dealhunt:
It works for all games on the store. Ps4/3/Vita. I've been purchasing prepaid US store credit from amazon for years to take advantage of these deals. :)

The only issues you might face are using US region DLC with AU region disc/download based games. This you should avoid. But if the regions match it works fine.

        • @shadowx:
Thanks that will do it :)

        • @shadowx:

I got the trouble you mentioned before. When I purchased Lego Superhero from CA PSN with $5.99, I found AU PSN had a sale for Super hero pack at $1.99. So I could not help buying that pack and unfortunately found late time those two do not work with each other. WTH

This is the process I use:

      • Create a new Email account
      • Create a new PSN account and set your location to US
      • Use an address, make up a fake one, for US address
      • Once created, login and enter PS Store (you should see the US Store).
      • I add credit by buying digital codes from the Amazon store.
      • Enter code and buy game.
      • Install game.
      • Log out of your US account and into standard AU account.
      • Enjoy game.

This is how I acquired GTA SA and Vice City when it was on sale a few months ago. I wanted the PS4 version as it ran better than PS3 and had trophies.

      • Hi thisplus, these steps still confuse me:

. Enter code and buy game
        . Install game
. Log out of your US account and into standard AU account

        1. Are those processes done through PS consoles/any normal internet browser/can be done either way?
        2. After you install the game, I thought it will be linked to the account you created (in this case US account), so I don't understand how logging out US account and logging in AU account work. Does both account need to have same name?

Hope you could clarify it, and thanks in advanced.

          1. Either way.
          2. You need to activate the device (for example, your PS4) as the primary device in your US account. Then you can play the games in the library of US account while logging on other accounts (including your AU account) on that device.
        • @sh4wnc:

Thanks sh4wnc for your reply. If I activate my PS4 as primary in US account, what will happened to the game that was purchased in AU account? Will I be able to keep switching both US and AU account as primary later on?

        • @bluray: Yes. You can active your PS4 as primary device in the settings of all of your accounts so that you can play all of your games on any of your account.

        • @sh4wnc:
          Excellent. Thanks for your explanation.

        • @sh4wnc: I have a question for you. I am about to buy a ps4. Do I have to set up an Australian account when I turn it on or do I have a choice of region? Thinking of just having one US or Canadian account and that's it.

        • +1

@tassieeagle: It doesn't really matter. You can create a US or Canadian account on the website even before you have got your PS4. When you turn your PS4 on you don't need to create a new account. Just log on the one created through the browser.

        • @sh4wnc: cool thanks

        • @sh4wnc:
Say you create multiple accounts (US, CAN and AU), can they all have same e-mail address as ID (since they are different reqion), or you need to create different e-mails?

        • @bluray: They can't have the same email address.

        • Sorry, so I bought the Amazon digital code on my desktop.

I then went to my PS4, logged in using my US account and went to the store (it looks different to the AU/EU store). I entered my code for my credit and bought a game as per normal. I installed the game in my US account, but it also appears in my standard AU account.

I log into the AU account to play to ensure I collect my trophies into my main account.

  • Canadian PSN has the same deal as US one, with flash sale under CA$5. Considering better exchange rate, AUD$5.2 spent in Canadian site instead of AUD$6.9 in US one, I would rather suggest you guys to set up a Canadian account and buy from there. You could go to http://www.pcgamesupply.com/ to buy the Canadian PSN card, which I have been used for long term and it is legit.

There are some good flash sale games:
Walking dead season 1 $4.99 (great game; I spent $14.99 last time on AU PSN sale, and really enjoyed it)
    Wolf Among Us $4.99
Outlast $4.99 (I bought it from AU PSN last sale at AUD$8.99, almost double the price :( )
Zombi $4.99 (That's another good zombie game; I bought it from CA PSN as a bundle with Far Cry 4 for $20).

    Enjoy them, guys.

  • Wow, Freedom wars is cheap.

Played it through - it was fantastic. The experience is a little hard at first, my first thought was "WTF is this crap", then I loved it, worked my 1000000 year sentence to zero. The downside is the multiplayer is mostly dead.
