    Real expensive IMO

    • Hi Bearosaurus,

Thanks for posting! Those are the standard prices. The coupon gets you a further 20% off.
Each face caricature takes me a bit over an hour to design and create. Which generally is true for most 'quality' digital caricaturists.

      • Wow, that's a really long time for a digital caricature!

I had one done at a conference by a rather well known digital artist - it took them about 10 min, including a bit of chit-chat in the beginning to get me smiling, figure the character, etc. the actual drawing and then the printing/emailing of the file.

On the quality front, I was very impressed with the outcome. Even if the quality of your work would be much better, such a long time would make you quite expensive - not to mention impossible to get hired to do caricatures at conference and company events…

Perhaps it's worth your while to examine your workflow?

        • Hey Floppydesk,

Good point! When I do commissions I like to spend a good time examining the likeness of the face and making sure that the finished product looks like the person. So I sit down and do some sketches. The time spent also includes scanning the hand drawn black-and-white and converting into vector for colouring.

When I do live caricatures I don't have that luxury, so the likeness gets kinda watered down with less detail and accuracy. Taking time is important to me because I believe people paying for commissions should receive a level of quality higher than the usual ten-minute doodle.

  • So you print (and frame) it once, OR I can print it often, but not both?

    • Hi Tuba! The Framed and Free Postage option includes a free digital copy sent to you. So yes, you can have both.
But the coupon does not apply to this option because I would simply be losing money on the postage.

The 20% off coupon applies to the Printable File Via Email option only.

  • Flattering Caricatures? Now that's an oxymoron.

    • Hahaha. I keep the exaggeration on the down-low and strive for a 'cuter' look, so that the likeness is there but there are no offensive looking faces like a lot of the caricaturists I know.

    • I believe it's a typo *Flattening

  • I'm definitely not going to neg the deal but my idea of these drawings is a nice memento of a holiday from a street vendor, not the product itself! Never heard of this kind of artist.

      Hey Coxjon,

It's just like any other gift idea - it's more about the giving than the product. In this case it's about love and family connection in an enjoyable format.

  • Hey All,

A lot of people have asked how large the printable file can be printed. The answer is it can be printed at any scale without loss of quality, from billboard size down to business card size (It's vector format, for those in the know).
