Telstra Qwerty-Touch and Indy Prepaid Phones $9 Each with $10 Sim Starter Kit @ Coles

140

Walked in Coles and found this deal.

Telstra Qwerty-touch phone and Telstra Indy, $9 each. The sim card included has been expired (so i was told) so they gave me a new $10 sim starter pack. Remember to ask a new one if you buy this phone.

All I needed was the chargers (no one can have too many chargers) but got a Blackberry clone to play with and the sim starter packs so I don't complain :)

    i see trouble ahead ;)

  • Is this Australia wide or only at a specific Coles?

    • Only at that Coles. It's fairly old stock - it was probably hidden in some cupboard in the back.

    Mmmm … Gingerbread!

Sounds like somebody found a few lost in a cupboard for the last five years. Did they have any Nokia 1100s?

cough cough a lot of dust

Some poor sod bought one for $55 on ebay so I guess if you are reselling you can make around $40 profit.

you can probably find these free in the mobile-muster recycle bins, waste of 9 bucks IMO

Maybe he could put the phones in the muster for someone else and hang on to the starter packs and chargers. Win-win.

You need tiny fingers to use these. I have a Nokia Asha 200 and the keys are tiny. I always wonder about saving $50 on something that people use many times a day and the amount of time lost and frustration at trying to use them.

  • Qwerty Touch is ancient - Android 2.1 device, last time I saw these in store was 2012. Looks like someone cleaned out the service desk! I think the Indy might be a year newer.
I'd be very surprised if those $10 SIM Packs are still valid.

    • Expired 8 months ago, but they gave new ones. Tried to offer $2 starter sim but luckily I read the box which showed $10 included.

Ancient phone but for me perfect purchase :)

  • How many available?

  • Are they locked to Telstra? And if so can you get them unlocked?

  • This looks like a good phone ! Android and keypad. Reminds me of an improved version of my e71 I had ages ago
