Do we need to pay every month $39.90 or $19.95?

    • +5

$19.95 for the first month (28 days) only, $39.90 each month (28 days) thereafter

Does this work for existing customers?

    • +4

      No

    • +5

Yes as long as you dont want to port number

  • +1

You can port out to a $2 sim & port back in with this sim, would it not work?

    • +2

Yes, it would most definitely work.

The $10 5GB packs were the bomb.

    • +4

7 eleven will probably sell out of them within a few days .

Then won't restock to minimise losses , at least that's what my local store does

    • +1

I'd be very surprised if Amaysim aren't doing them a deal to sell at half price. I'd imagine the cost price for 7/11 would be above $20.

      • i doubt it. There is talk about an Amaysim Takeover by either optus or TPG. The share price has fallen further and investors and not happy .

Probably clearing out stock and waiting to see what happens after the Takeover

        • The sims don't actually get activated until scanned at the checkout now so there is no need to clear stock as they have no value until POS.

        • @dan76n:

I think they still buy them from amaysim.

    • +1

Minimise losses? That would make sense if 7/11 were being forced to take part in this deal, the fact they actively decided to do the deal and made the expiry date so far away implies they have no intention of artificially restricting supply.

Have you ever heard of bait and switch?

Merchant advertised great offer on website. Customer goes to shop to buy product. Product out of stock. Since customer is already at the shop, decides to spend $x on products. Win for the merchant.

I can tell you this because i've been multiple time to my local 7 eleven when they advertise $2 pies. I go at 8am and none are left. I go back after work and still no pies heated.

Same thing goes regarding $2 Wed sandwiches. They don't take in consideration the increased demand. By 8 - 9 am all sold out. Customers are then forced to buy more expensive items because they cant be bothered going anywhere else.

DO i need to go on?

        • I'd really rather you didn't.

Bait and switch relies on people believing there's a chance of getting the product. If every single week they overly restrict supply of offer items then people aren't going to keep going back to look for them - except you evidently.

        • @callum9999:

well i went to test the theory today. 2 out of 6 of the 7 Eleven stores had amaysim packs in stock. One had 3 packs left, the other had 7.

  • $0.71 per day is a comparable deal, but you got to be willing to port for a month

    • +5

Or buy Optus $30 sim from Woolworths for $10 this week.

Go on $2 days's unlimited calls text and 500mb data . That's 67 cents per day and 7.5GB per 15 days . As long as you can control your data usage . Been doing this for the last couple of months on my spare phone but with the $5 Optus deal Woolworths had last year mainly for the data

Saying that , most of us restocked at least 2 - 4 months on the Woolworths mobile $1 deal 😍

This is a very nice idea. Why you are being negged baffles me.
I am really curious, wish somebody could explain.

Gave EC a plus for comment

Yeah I had to up-vote so that the suggestion was visible to others.

I think maybe there was a lot of hoarding the cheap starter packs instead of not enough sharing that warranted the neg-vote.

So what is the trouble involved to enjoy the lower cost of this method? If an article could be written, everyone could share the link whenever the question pops up.

  • Good

  • does anyone really care if its only for 1 month?

  • -6

amaysim is good but I hate how they lure you in with half price first month prices.

  • please confirm to me that Amayway starter pack doesn't have expiry date just like Vodafone…i still have 6 amayway kit from Woollies Promotion, there's abit of confusion regarding expiry date. i heard something about Amayway doesnt like port in-port out and people get some sort of redflag.

any issue with port in-port out?
