  • Will gopro etc accessories fit ?

    • Does this cam look like it is the same form factor as a GoPro?

ROFL - what exactly is a "gopro accessory"?

Do you mean like the waterproof casing so you can take it swimming?

  • 1 x Chinese English User Manual

    refreshing honesty.

The good: At 25g, it should be able to go on my quadcopter.
The bad: picture is probably just as crappy as the "1080p" camera that came with the copter :-)

If there were any sample pics and clips, I'd consider it.

Never buy a dash camera with "Night vision With IR LEDS" as it means the camera is no good in the low light. IR LEDS on a dash camera will do at best nothing as they aren't bright enough. At worst they will reflect of the inside of the windscreen making the view even worse.

    • Interesting as my G1W-C quality is not bad at night on 720p as that model comes with IR LED [need the car headlight still]
+ I dont know why they are called IR as they are just white LED ??

Caveat Emptor: I have this and never been able to get it to turn on automatically when powered (i.e. as a Dash-cam, when the ignition goes on).
If there's a way to do this Torben, then I'm happy to be proven wrong!

  • These are tiny form factor but only record 1080p at 15fps which is useless.
30fps only supports 720p and the quality is poor.
    Don't bother buying.

    • how do you know 720p quality is poor? do you have a video to share?

I bought an SQ8 around 3 months ago, 720p I found to be grainy and colour reproduction was terrible. I wasn't using it as a Dashcam though, so can't comment on number plate recognition, looping or other features etc.
I returned it for a refund. No video, sorry.

For a discussion on Dashcams recently, see post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/248587
If I didn't already have a Dashcam, I would get the Street Guardian SG9665GC with a separately purchased Power Magic Pro.
