Boost Mobile $20 Starter Pack for $5 at Kmart

730

Boost Mobile $20 starter pack, plenty of stock left at Fountain Gate store. Most likely store specific but worth checking your local store if you are interested. Cheaper than the previous 1/2 price deal at Boost Mobile online

update: seems like it is national wide based on fellow ozbargainers. my house mate just came back from kmart in keysborough, plenty of stock there too for those live near the area. i don't do much calls, and 1GB of data is good enough for me so will stock up some more tomorrow to add to my stash of the wooolies $1 for $30 starter pack ;)

    • Neither of the stores I spoke to had the $40 on offer, just the $20.

      • Only $20 pack

  • 3 more at Kmart Footscray if anyone wanna grab it

    • Nek minnit…

  • Does Boost support tethering and share WIFI hotpot? I am using lycamobile prepaid. I just found lyca prohibits the tethering recently! Any recommendation?
I need prepaid, and can add DATA part extra(lyca provide $10—1G quote at the moment),then can tether the other devices.
    So thanks!

    • I dont remember tethering with optus sim but I reckon you should be able to. They are on sale at woolies at the moment $30 kit for $10 and comes with 3 gigs of data plus unlimited calls. Good value IMO.

I can do both with my redmi note 3.

  • Why you just got 1 pack mate! Not better than $1 Woolies packs, but you should have bought more to stock up :D

  • 3+ in Innaloo. Cheers OP! Expiry is March 2017

  • Just got soo many starter packs in my drawer dedicated for all my recent acquisition. Amaysim, Telstra, Boost, Vodafone, Woolies… lol

  • What was the deal for Optus $30 kit for $1? How can you get so many? I only remember the Woolworths $1 deal is if you spend $30 in store and can only get 1.

    • Yes it was but i am yet to receive any confirmation about posting other than just confirmation about the order so still not sure whether they will honour it or not.

      • Oh I got you now. You mean Woolworths prepaid not Optus $30, just re-read your post… don't know why I thought it's Optus :)

  • Any word on stock at Chadstone?

    • Edit: no stock at Chadstone.

  • Pacific Werribee (VIC) Kmart has heaps left. Just had girlfriend pick up 3 during her lunch break :)
Shame they don't have the $40 one discounted. Although I noticed on their website they are giving an extra 5GB (so about 16GB total with their weekend 2GB bonuses) with the $40 one right now. Just need to activate by 27th June. That is great for Telstra 4G network and high use!

Is there anywhere selling the Woolies/Optus 4G $10 or $1 for $30 deal or similar anyone know?

    • I was told by the guy at Kmart that this $20 one is clearance item because it is old stock. It does not work on Telstra 4G. They will be getting more in which will work on 4G so that's why they are getting rid of these for $5

      • +1

I just activated my $5 Boost SIM and it DOES work with 4G, I'm using it right now. Speedtest results: Ping 19ms; Download 28.62Mbps, Upload 5.92 Mbps.
I'm happy with that. Faster than most people get at home!

        • Awesome. Thanks for confirmation @billy_bob

  • 11 left at Merrylands.

Make that 8. Lady next to me just grabbed 3 packs.

    • Right…

      • Lol I don't need them. Got a lot of the $30 Telstra sims left that were $5 from woolies mate. Much better deal.

She initially wanted 2 but then asked for a 3rd after checking expiry (March 2017).

  • 7 left at Warriewood, NSW; expiry 28 March 2017 on the 2 I bought.

Says on the back of the packaging, "Your SIM card will not work on 4G", and, "Be sure to check that your device is 850MHz compatible", hence why they are probably on sale.

They will be fine on 4G (as long as your mobile/tablet uses the same 4G bands as Telstra.

I Have an old (3G)sim working just fine on 4G.

  • Would seem pretty odd and maybe misleading when the packaging says 4G in a big red circle 😕
I doubt they would bother restricting certain SIM's to 3G only… It doesn't make a difference to Telstra or boost (mostly run by Telstra ops, customer service and billing type people anyway) if you use 3G or 4G really.. In fact they improve network efficiency having you on 4G.

    • ? You might have a new one as the one I picked up today doesn't have a 4G in a red circle.

  • Thx OP, I just bough 3 from Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (SA).
