  • Oh that sounds a bit too good, lets hope Telstra Wholesale don't do the dirty on them again

    • +1

As clarified below, OP had it wrong. Kogan's still with Vodafone.

      • +1

Ah that makes it more sustainable, Voda needs the money, your plan probably a charitable tax deduction :-)

    • Oh that sounds a bit too good, lets hope Telstra Wholesale don't do the dirty on them again

Telstra Wholesale didn't do the dirty on them in the first place, Kogan screwed themselves and their customers because they're incompetent.

  • 7gb is $295.95!!!!! 24.66 per month

    • Oops. Updated post.

      • You might wanna add a sim cost as well as they are quite high

        • Prepaid starter pack is 0.05c with free shipping.

@alialoosh: hey mate,,do you have to recharge for the whole year before 31st may to get the promotional pricing? just ordered the sim now, so not sure if it will get shipped before 31st may..

Edit: 20% off DOES apply to existing subscription renewal. Currently best active value deal until 31 May 2016, and is not pre-activated on the SIM. So if you bought the SIM, and activate after 31 May 2016; you pay full price on Vodafone with 4G ($1.11), but still cheaper than undiscounted Aldi (7GB at $1.50/day, or 5GB at $1.17/day x 30 days) or undiscounted Boost (3GB + 2GB every weekend at $1.33 x 30 days) on Telstra 4G

  • Actually cheaper than that: https://www.koganmobile.com.au/plans/mobile/

    $295.95 for the 7GB.

Edit: Ordered in the excitement but realised OP had it wrong. They're still with Voda, not back with Telstra. Considering Voda's inferior service (at least for me), it's a deal breaker.

  • 7GB 365 days $295.95??

    Not Telstra…
    AWESOME COVERAGE

Thanks, I was a little excited. Forgot they are now Voda.

Silly reason for neg if they aren't associated with the provider which you want.

      • false advertising.
        the post originally said Telstra.

If only there was some international minutes too….I know I am getting greedy here 😃

    Vodafone is a No No.

With TPG for 4 years, transit from Optus to Vodafone I can tell this is not worth it.

    Going prepaid hooping soon.

    • I am tossing up to get this Kogan (Vodafone) deal or do the prepaid SIM hopping month to month. The only thing that worries me about SIM hopping is the downtime when porting from one carrier to another each month. Can anyone with experience let me know how much downtime is there when porting each month? Thanks.

      • I have a spare pocket wifi so it does not matter me, I still can make some internet call.

good to hoop from one to another instead buying a $2 sim pack as you need to hoop 2 time every 28 days.

      • +1

The service with your current provider stops when the port is complete. At that point you just have to insert the new sim and you should be back up and running on the new provider. So ideally there should not be any downtime.

Atleast this was my experience last month when I did it.

        • what if you use a $2 sim to bridge to the same provider?

I moved from Boost 4G (Telstra) to Vodafone about two weeks ago and so far it's been better for me.

    • Boost is too bad. I am not sure is telstra has a way to make the service inferior for its associated services.

      • Yeah I've also considered that.

  • +7

vodafone actually pretty good for me there days.

  • +2

This seems a pretty good post. Where else can you get unlimited phone calls and 7gb of data for $25 a month? Vodafone is pretty good for me. Obviously, not great if you live in remote areas.

Surprised more people aren't keen on this post. Are there any better deals out there for mobile phone plans?

  • I'm with TPG on Vodafone network and I must say the network coverage and data speed have been excellent so far. I did a speedtest comparison with a friend on Aldi's Telstra operated mobile and their data speed were rubbish. Vodafone in Melbourne metro is very good at least. Can't say about regional coverage though.

  • Considering #Officeworks state Kogan only supplies grey imports, I wonder which international carrier they are going to try and claim this service is being provided through!

  • no included international calls is a deal breaker for me

    • no free 12 months stan is a deal breaker for me

  • +1

Keep in mind although it uses Voda it does NOT support international roaming. So no free NZ roam and no $5 a day roaming.

  • Has anybody moved to Kogan and had really bad coverage? If so, were you able to get a refund? I am thinking of getting this 5XL plan for 12 months (7GB for $25/mth is very tempting) but I don't want to be stuck on it for 12 months if coverage is really bad. I am in Melbourne.

    • I have Lebara (which runs on voda 3G netowrk) and Telstra sim on my dual sim. And most of the time in MElbourne CBD, Voda beats Telstra.

      • Thanks pyramid, I am just about convinced to give this a go….

Combine with AmEx Spend $150 Get $30 Back if you have already registered. Makes this deal even better ;)

    • Did not work. It's weird that the amount charged to the Amex was from Vodafone and not Kogan so there wouldn't be any $30 cashback.

      • +1

I would contact Amex and ask for the rebate to be applied manually as you have made a purchase from Kogan website as per their T&C's.

  • +1

Good deal but how long is 7gb for? Let's say you do 3 months after 3 months does it go back to 5gb?

    • This offer is slightly different as they now offer 4G coverage and have bonus data on the 5XL and 11XL plans.

  • Do customers that have continued their subscription entitled to the bonus 2GB on the 5XL?

    • Not sure, but i think 5gig of data is still awesome

      • 5GB alone for $24.67 is $0.82 which is only $0.07 cheaper than prepurchasing the three month subscription. There have been deal where three months subscription have been $10 total.
