not really much better, the telstra network had that bad signal drop out this year. so the discounted 3G with vodafail is cheaper than the boost and aldi offerings with telstra 4G

      • Has the 4G transitioning started yet? I'm reading before June it will be completed, which isn't too far away.

  • $20 for 3GBp/m seems pretty good, but only 3G for now and Vodafone (which isn't that bad)

    • in the current market, they should be going for $5-10 for 3 months, I wish I got those $1 starter kits back then…

      • I'm tempted to go sign for 90days/365days because I just don't have enough $30 starter packs to last the Winter.

        Save me, TA!

        x.x

    • Yeah, they have sent out notifications to all current users that they will be moving over to 4g by June. Which makes this a really good deal :)

If anyone's lazy, and interested in the monthly breakdown, it goes like this:

    3XL - 90 - 63.95 - $21.32
    3XL - 365 - 239.95 - $19.72
    5XL - 90 - 79.95 - $26.65
    5XL - 365 - 295.95 - $24.32

I've been using their service under the old $10.99/month for 5XL which expired April 28 (relax folks, it was an OzBargain deal!) and the service has been pretty decent, but I'm not sure these deals are discounted enough to keep me onboard when my current deal runs out this month. I would have liked to see larger discounts for 365 days too, saving $2/month isn't worth the commitment in the current market.

  • Does it come with international roaming?

    • No.

    • Boost mobile does

  • Might wait for better deal stick to 1 month plans
Want a discount on 1xl plans

  • 4g will be available from around June. I'm currently on their 12 month plan. A lot of the times I don't get reliable 3g reception in my area (West), although my wife doesnt have a problem but she's using Vodaphone 4g. I also had the same issue with Optus. My 3g reception is fine elsewhere (ie City and North area)

  • The critical information summary notes that internal roaming calls are not included. Optus and Vodafone have a five year tower sharing agreement until next year allowing transparent roaming so it may pay to turn roaming off on your phone if you take this option or risk an unpleasant surprise.

What’s not included: All services not listed above, including but not limited to:
    • ●calls made, SMS sent and Data used when you are roaming onto a network other than the Vodafone Digital Mobile Network, including Australian and
    international networks.

  • does anyone know if these come pre-activated?
or are you required to activate within a certain period of time?
can't seem to find this info int he T&Cs

  • Does this apply to existing customer subscription renewal, or new SIMs only?
Edit: Just checked and no 20% off to existing subscription renewal.

Edit: 20% off DOES apply to existing subscription renewal. Currently best active value deal until 31 May 2016, and is not pre-activated on the SIM. So if you bought the SIM, and activate after 31 May 2016; you pay full price on Vodafone with 4G ($1.11), but still cheaper than undiscounted Aldi (7GB at $1.50/day, or 5GB at $1.17/day x 30 days) or undiscounted Boost (3GB + 2GB every weekend at $1.33 x 30 days) on Telstra 4G

Wow, for 4G that is a great price. Voda 4G is great reception in my area.
