  Am I missing something with Air Asia, or are these prices only if you don't have checked baggage. Every time I look at their site and go through the booking process additional fees for 20kg baggage is added. Sydney to Beijing gets hit up for an extra $156, making it $598, not $442.

    You are correct - it is extra for bags & meals. All flight sales listed on OzBargain for TigerAir, Jetstar, AirAsia, CEBU Pacific etc are like this (not just deals submitted by IWantThatFlight, but by everyone).

    This is standard with budget airlines.

    But it really sucks that they would charge you twice each way (2 x $39) despite the integrated booking. Baggage ruins lives.

    You must be new to this. Just remove it from the booking to bring the price down to $442 again.

      The good thing about AirAsia is they don't gouge you on hot meals (most under $10). Compare that to Jetstar where they charge up to $25 for a microwave meal.

  Only get a luggage allowance on the way back. It will be hot there in June - Aug. TAke only a carry on. Your warmest clothes will be what you wear on the plane. The rest will be socks, jocks t-shirts and shorts.

  AirAsia meals are pretty decent.except the kids meals, which are garbage. Always order vegetarian. Except once, I've always received my meals first.

      take an expandable suitcase (the size of carry on) as the carry on. have a soft collapsible bag in that to use for hand luggage on the way bag.
