  • Great prices. Thanks

  • Only June for Sydney?

  • Am I missing something with Air Asia, or are these prices only if you don't have checked baggage. Every time I look at their site and go through the booking process additional fees for 20kg baggage is added. Sydney to Beijing gets hit up for an extra $156, making it $598, not $442.

    • Plus 4 meals for $20.

$442 with no checked baggage, no meals, and no drinks. $618 with them.

      Hi upupandaway,

You are correct - it is extra for bags & meals. All flight sales listed on OzBargain for TigerAir, Jetstar, AirAsia, CEBU Pacific etc are like this (not just deals submitted by IWantThatFlight, but by everyone).

      • Country to what his user ID suggests, perhaps he/she hasn't been a frequent traveler over the past decade.

    • This is standard with budget airlines.

But it really sucks that they would charge you twice each way (2 x $39) despite the integrated booking. Baggage ruins lives.

You must be new to this. Just remove it from the booking to bring the price down to $442 again.

The good thing about AirAsia is they don't gouge you on hot meals (most under $10). Compare that to Jetstar where they charge up to $25 for a microwave meal.

        • is there any thing stopping you from bring your own food?

something sensible like a ham sandwich, or a salad.

        • @t25:

No, as long as it isn't a liquid like soup. Having said that, I'll usually grab a Nasi Lamak for $4.

        • and their meals can be pretty good!

        • @downhillmtbr: And if it isn't something funky like boiled eggs, fish curry, or durian cake; out of respect for your fellow passengers.

Only get a luggage allowance on the way back. It will be hot there in June - Aug. TAke only a carry on. Your warmest clothes will be what you wear on the plane. The rest will be socks, jocks t-shirts and shorts.

AirAsia meals are pretty decent.except the kids meals, which are garbage. Always order vegetarian. Except once, I've always received my meals first.

    • then you need to buy a new luggage on the way back every time.

      • take an expandable suitcase (the size of carry on) as the carry on. have a soft collapsible bag in that to use for hand luggage on the way bag.

  • smog…. why would anyone go to beijing

  • I am new to this. How do can I book with a longer break in KL (say 3-4 days)?

    • I think with Air Asia, you have to make two separate bookings. Can anyone else confirm?

    • the discount only applies to the flight booked as a direct flight
