  • Just wondering, considering we have had a few Medion offers, are they any good?
AFAIK they're just rebadged version of some generic laptop brands.
Do they make good decision in picking laptops to rebadge and release to consumers?

    • fyi basically all laptops are made at the same factories and "rebadged". this includes all the big brands like acer, hp, toshiba etc etc etc.

  • It's pretty much the same as this Acer from Officeworks for $744.

It's got 2GB more RAM, a USB DVB tuner and a bigger battery though.

So it's good, but it isn't mind blowing.

It may have core i3… but 1366 x 768 for 15.6" isn't great, and intel graphics is even worse… Not worth it in my opinion… you shouldn't have to look hard for a better deal… just like i said in an earlier post, "who spends $800 without doing their homework?"

    • 1366x768 is standard res for a 15" monitor. It might not be a super fantastic deal but, IMHO, you're being too harsh. It's not bad for the price, and cheapest for i3, that I have seen.

no way. try using a 1600 pixel display and you'll know how crap most of these cheap end displays are. i got an old 6 year dell laptop with higher res than most of these newb systems

        • How much did you paid for your Dell? Is it Widescreen?

        • +1

I'm not sure you understand the difference between standard and what you prefer.

See, the standard is what most 15.6" models have - 1366x768. Fun fact - most people prefer a lower resolution on their monitors because otherwise "the writing is too small".

What you prefer is something higher. I do too, personally. But because we personally prefer it, doesn't mean it is the standard.

          • @[Deactivated]: I prefer a bigger screen and a higher resolution :P

            I have a 17" Dell laptop that I set at 1920 X 1200.
I am still amazed at a 21.5 or 22" monitor at how much more can be fit on the screen and its usually at a much lower resolution.

    • standard graphics, standard machine, and its even an i3, so good deal.

having just recommended a similar spec'ed machine for a friend for around the same price(that didn't even have an i3!) its a pretty good price. (although she did get office 07/10 thrown in)

we had quite a bit of a look around…so for those who are negging this offer, please provide a link to a better deal at a similar or better price.

acer has a pretty high return rate after speaking with a store sales person… (taken with a grain of salt)

  • curious about the i3 IGP though no reviews anywhere, but dont got high hopes, just how much better than 4500m

    • There's plenty of reviews out there for the i3 330M.

For averages see here, and at the bottom you can look at specific model reviews (there's 25+ of them).

  • its decent for what you pay for…. i do like the 60 day return thing… play around with it… if u don't like it return before 60 days for a full refund

    • Yeah, same one I linked above.

Still has less RAM, no TV tuner and a smaller battery.
