  • Anyone know if this has Chinese keyboard preloaded?

    • Why?

      • +1

        Don't know but you can install yourself anyway from the app store

  • Whats the camera like on this? Was looking to upgrade to LG G4 from a Nexus 5 but bootloop issues have made me look elsewhere.

    • Why not sick with the Nexus 5?

      • +1

        Issues with the camera mostly. When im taking photos of people, for some reason it focuses on the background rather than the subject. Other than that the camera app stops working sometimes requiring me to reboot the phone which kind of limits the amount of spontaneous photo shooting I can do.

        • That sounds strange, can't say that happened to me…could your handset possibly be low on free memory?

          Sorry, thought you were talking about the Moto G3 there. Carry on.

        • Try fastboot flashing the factory image?

        • Yup I've noticed as well the focus always shifts to the background first rather than foreground, especially for close-ups.

        • lots of phones do that as they try to work out the image and where to focus just some do it faster than others. it's hard for the phone to work out which part of the image is important eg the centre or the edge …. that is why with dslr cameras you focus on the centre image then you can frame and move what was the centre to the edge and it remains in focus ….

    • What's the bootloop issue exactly?

  • Telstra and Optus 2G networks closing in the next 12 months so second sim won't work?

    • Vodafone hasn't announced closure of their 2G yet.

      • Doesn't matter the government is reassigning those frequencies so voda will follow

        • Carriers typically "refarm" their frequencies. I'm sure Vodafone will eventually, but it may be a while off yet considering they just refarmed 850 and still unwrapping 700.

        • telstra and Optus have been going gang busters with 700 MHz roll out …..

      • for most people won't be a big deal as they have 3G and 4g on their phones so only VERY old phones or people with unusual Asian models and dual sim and these are probabaly a minority of their customers.

  • Correct me if I am wrong:
    This phone could be one of the very few phones ( if there are any others) that has all the below features:
    Support band 28;
    Dual sim;
    Dedicated slot for SD card ( not shared with the second sim);
    local stock.

  • sold out? checkout goes right through to the last step in paypal, then error message appears (no longer available)

    • nevermind. the store probably didn't have enough stock, as checkout worked as soon as i changed cnc store

  • Hmm….
    This or $50 less for the Kogan one…..

    • Different models. Different specs. Xt1550 has double the storage and RAM plus more bands

      • 1Gb vs 2Gb
        Worth the $50 extra?

        • 1GB makes it worthless and should be avoided at all costs.

    • Kogan variant isn't dual SIM.

      • Thanks..
        Isn't the second sim only 2G compatible?

        • +1

          Correct.

        • @KaptnKaos: I guess the common consensus says this is the best bang for buck phone for less than $300..
          I don't buy phone that often and looking for one to replace my Lumia 735 which is lacking some of my important apps for sports tracking and proper social media app.

          Would this phone last at least two years?
          Any better phone in this price bracket?

  • Anyone know if invoice will have $255.20 or $319.00 on it?

    • $319. Personal experience from previous deals.

  • Awesome, missed out a couple of weeks ago when they sold out. Looks to be the best bang for buck phone for my needs, good battery life, decent camera, no unable to be removed bloatware - never,ever buying Samsung again!

  • This or the Nexus 5x for $50 more (but from Kogan)?

    • Depends on your requirements eg. Dual SIM, dealing with Kogan vs TGG, brand preference, etc.

  • Looking for a new phone for my daughter (hers dropped & cracked front cam).

    What's the opinion of this Moto vs. this ZTE (value for $$$)?

    Ta
