Ah this must be the first gen UE Rolls, I paid $74 bucks for mine at DS's closing down sales.

There is no first gen UE Roll. The UE roll is the successor to the UE Mini Boom that was released in 2013.

Perfect design for when you go crusading.

  • Good timing as my shower Bluetooth speaker is broken. Thanks lyl.

  • Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth speaker for indoor use? Willing to spend up to $60 or so.

if the "or so" is $1.60, stop asking questions and buy it.

But I need that $1.60 for my bus fare! Seriously though I only want something for the kitchen/lounge not when for I go canyoning.

        • indoor so maybe quite then you can try those from target, which were on sale for that price range, as you didnt ask for sound quality or anything.

    • These speakers are great. http://www.harveynorman.com.au/logitech-x50-bluetooth-wirele…

Get very loud, not bad sounding either.

I said this on the other recent deal, but this speaker is well worth it for $60. I got one with the JB price error last year and it's been fantastic.

    • Yeah, same here.
Wasn't sure at the time if i was paying too much for something, but it's great - listen to ABC radio crap on it.

Of course once the irreplaceable battery is stuffed, it's stuffed.

  • Dammit just paid $77 from HN

    • Have you opened it up yet? if not, return it then buy it on ebay page!

      • lol sif worth my time!

    • I feel your pain. Me too!

I've got a couple of these from the JB HIFI deal, and to be honest…I'm glad I bought two. I reckon that the sound quality of just one of these running is not all that impressive. They really begin to shine when you link them and run them in stereo. They sound way better than twice as good as a single speaker if you know what I mean!
$120 for two of these is a real bargain.

    • Man, you got me thinking now. I made up my mind to buy this one after so many positive reviews. Don't wanna spend $120 though for 2. I'll just pass this one now. Errrrrrrrrrrrr…..

      • Now I feel responsible…won't sleep tonight!! It still sounds good at $60.
Definitely not at the full RRP tho!

Sleep well buddy. It is just a speaker. Winter nights are the best to sleep. Enjoy !!!! Cheers :)

    • You probably should have just got the UE Boom 2

  • Does anyone have this speaker and use it when hiking?

I have this - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/230296 - which is excellent to clip onto my backpack (or just plop it in front of me if kayaking) and would consider an upgrade but this one here seems a fair whack bulkier and heavier.

I carried this in my backpack everyday no dramas on the weight.

  • man this is so tempting.. im currently using a Logitech x100 which is good for my travels, but im tryna justify buying this one now

  • +1

    Bought 2! Thanks :)

  • Does anyone know how this compares to the Logitech X100 in real terms? They both have good rating on Specout, but the X100 can be had for half price ($29).
Or the Xiaomi Bluetooth 4 speaker? That seems to have good reviews & price too.

  • Bought a pair thanks OP :)

  • Bought a pair, thanks (Couldn't order for click and collect at the Hoppers Crossing Good Guys store, even though they said they had stock /shrug)

  • picked it up just now, but I am having issue pairing it with my sony xperia z1, my mobile can't find UE Roll. Anyone having the same issue? I tried holding the bluetooth button for several seconds while my z1 is scanning for available bluetooth devices with no luck. Hope someone can shed some light here. Thank you.
