The free insurance from the card is one of the better ones out there. You don't even need to spend anything on the card to activate it.

Can't find anything about what the transfer rate is to QFF though.

    Annual fee is a killer

  • maybe change title to:

CBA Bonus 80,000 Points for NEW Platinum Awards Credit Card ($249 Annual Fee)

80,000 Commonwealth Bank Bonus points = 40'000 Qantas FF points.

No, it is 32,000. The conversion is 2.5 these days.

      • Cheers, even worths nowadays.

Costs $30 per year(currently) to link the CBA rewards to your Qantas rewards.

    • Really? When did that change? It used to be $10

      • November. Noticed it only when I saw it on my bill. No way to get it back once charged

  • Alternatively, if using points for travel aren't your thing, CBA reward points earn at a much faster rate for gift cards (assuming mainly AMEX usage at 3 2.5 points per $1)

Edit: Correction: Diamond is 3 points.

  • You could convert to Velocity Points = 80,000 CBA Rewards = 40,000 Velocity Points

  • this is a decent deal but absolute wrought for existing customers.

  • So you could get $400 worth of giftcards for the 80,000 points making this a profit of $151. Would they refund part of the annual fee if you cancel the card early?
