Hello Ozbargainers, Big Chief here,

I have been holding back on our 50% 40g bags as it takes us away from wholesale and events but I know everyone loves it. But it is now time to share the love once again.

Once this deal is finished I won’t be having one for some time as we have some big events and new wholesale customers that need our full attention. LIKE US UP when I am working on the next deal before Christmas I will make sure we throw a free sample in of our new flavour I have been working on.

THE DEAL- 50% of all 40g bags and all flavours. Code word is ""bazinga"" *this does not include our already discounted variety packs and is limited to 30 bags per order.

We feel this will be the best way for people to try our product and by offering it so cheap you can try ALL 8 flavours at half price.

Please read our Important message down below as I don't want to disappoint anyone

All of our products are high in protein-no artificial colours, no artificial flavours or preservatives.
Here is a list of our flavours with hot flavours separated.

POST RATES are

  • 500g bags- $8.25 We can fit 10 x 40g bags in this one.
  • 3kg bags- $13.40 – we can fit 30 x 40g bags into this bag due to the size of the jerky bags.

IMPORTANT below is a guideline so no one is disappointed.

  1. Don’t select PICKUP if you can’t pick it up from our Mitchelton store in Brisbane. If you select it by mistake we will contact you with procedures on how to pay for pickup.
  2. If you are picking up please be aware we will contact you when your order is ready to collect. During sales all stock is allocated and cooked fresh so you can’t just come in and collect without our notification.
  3. This is an online deal only.
  4. Once payment is cleared we try to send your jerky asap. As this is a massive deal and our jerky is cooked fresh (not stockpiled) I am expecting some people will be waiting up to three weeks for order but be patient as we will work tirelessly to get all orders out asap. We send out according to who orders first and also location.
  5. If the timeframe has passed and you want to check on your order please email [email protected] with your order number, payment method and name to make it easy for us to follow up.
  6. There is a limit of 30 x 40g bags per order-The reason we do this is so we can get all orders out in a timely fashion.

      i'd rather salt than nasty food additives/preservatives, which seem to be the norm these days.

  • Ordered some last time there was a discount/sale, wasnt too bad flavourwise, just really dry. Prefer little more chew, less brittle to my jerky myself.

      there are various types of jerkies, this guy makes overly dry jerkies which is not a bad thing it's just the type. Other places make them moist or not as dry. It's really personal preference.

    op, last time i ordered 30 bags of my fave teriyaki flavour,, and it tasted different,, more saltier than sweet and more drier than the previous times i ordered… did you change the recipe?

    • No we haven't change recipe but so many factors contribute to slightly different outcomes. Everything is weighed to the gram and temp is always the same as well as the times. The only thing i can think of is if it hasn't been mixed through properly which has been discussed. Thanks for the heads up though le3lee

    3rd time ordering from you guys, another 30pack this time. Getting more and more people roped in as well (reducing how many packets I get! :( ). Will have to start buying 2x30 soon…. So addicting. Hopefully it's a little faster this time (took about 3 weeks IIRC). Thanks rep :)

    • Hello Pepsii, it is only limited by order per 30 not by address. You will just have to do two orders but will be charged 2 x postage.

    Last time I was unimpressed with about 1/3 of the Jerky being flavourless.
    I wasn't going to re-order again but after reading your comment regarding a mixing issue I'm hoping that has now been addressed and I've decided to give it another shot.

  • Good jerky and good deal only downside is the way they handle orders is terrible waiting 1 week + just for an order to be shipped is a joke they need to sort out there order processing so its automated or work in improving times or hire more staff either way if someone places an order it should be shipped within 1 - 2 days absolute max not 1 - 2 weeks and (Having a lot of orders to process isn't really a valid excuse)

      They are clear & upfront about their processing times and indicate that they prepare the product as required rather than stockpiling…

      "..or hire more staff…" yes, because I'm sure they hadn't thought of that… although maybe they'd prefer to maintain business viability rather than employ staff only to find they don't have the work for them.

      3 Weeks on no notification of anything being shipped no email apologizing no email saying were working on your order it'll be done in the next few days

      Like i said in my above comment if you can't handle all the orders do something to improve it expecting a customer to wait 3 weeks + for beef jerky is absolutely ridiculous

      I love your product and you've been good so far in terms of times but last order and this 1 is atrocious

      Three weeks later and I haven't even received a postage confirmation, nor has a friend in another state. Very disappointing.

      Hi Kathy

      Your order is in the packing room ready to be packed and sent. Due to the number of orders we do ask to allow up to three working weeks for it to be sent. You will receive a tracking number once it has been sent.
      I am sorry for the delay, we are working hard to get them all out in a timely manner.

      As someone who used to work for an online gift store as well as PC Case Gear, I can tell you it doesn't take that long to pick, pack and get things out of the door. The gift store had 1-2 staff in the warehouse that picked hundreds of orders every day. Whilst they are up front about the 3 week waiting time, tomorrow marks full 3 weeks and I've just received a generic email that tells me nothing. If they are having trouble they should just say so, it beats being lied to or given customer-friendly generic responses.

    I think I'll go with biltong.com.au from now on.

    Up to 3 weeks is acceptable, over 3 weeks and I'm going elsewhere.

  • Also waiting for mine to come. Order number 8641 and 8643. Placed on 7th June. Hopefully it'll arrive soon.

  • Sent an email to them yesterday with my order number asking them what was going on and if i could get an update 1 full working business day later no reply at all

  • I emailed them and they said that they have an electrical fault and therefore stopped all production until clear.

    "We have had to stop production due to electrical failure, we have to wait for the all clear before we can start cooking again.

    We are trying to get the orders out as soon as possible. I am sorry for the delay."

    • Yeah it really is not good enough. They should have let you know this a lot sooner and without you having to email them first.

      • Not when there's equal or better alternatives. biltong.net.au do an excellent chilli garlic biltong, 1kg delivered for $66.99.

        • I'll try them again - I love their Original flavour and not really into trying alternatives. Sure it's kinda getting expensive at full cost but I'm not a big jerky consumer and a couple of 200g bags does last me for a while.

      If what they are saying is true, it would take 5 mins max to update this thread to let their customers know there is a delay. They still haven't done that. It's like they are sending a big FU to the ozbargain community.

    I emailed them and was told that the order would be sent this coming Thursday at the earliest. Like others have posted, they are saying an electrical fault delayed everything. It would have been nice if OP posted that here

      Especially considering that I ordered some biltong from bitong.com.au on Tuesday night at 6pm, it was delivered today (Thursday). They're north of Sydney, I'm in suburban Melbourne.

      I know it's the third time I've mentioned this mob in this thread, but I have no affiliation with them, I'm just really disappointed that Geronimo don't have anywhere near the same level of customer service, and quite frankly, respect for the customer that other places do.

      • How is their biltong? Is it comparable to geronimo? Might have to make an order.

          Biltong is more moist, and hence won't store for as long. You need to store it in the fridge after a few days, and freeze it after a few more.

          I prefer the texture (mouth feel) to jerky as it doesn't require as much chewing.

          The chili garlic biltong they make is probably my favourite flavour of any of the jerky and biltong that I've tried (probably about 15 different brands and flavours).

    "I ordered on the 6/07/2016 waited the 3 weeks which is absolutely crazy wait time because i have always ordered from you guys multiple orders over the years

    I still didn't receive my order i emailed you and i got this response

    That was on the 29th june it is now the 9th of july has been well over a month waiting and i have still yet to receive anything not even an updated email on whats going on

    I personally expect some extra bags of jerky in my order otherwise i won't be purchasing from you guys again i understand things go wrong and stuff breaks but the way you've handled this is poor

    You should of made a comment on ozbargain the minute you knew of the electrical faults you should of sent out emails to all orders stating what has happened and you should of offered a few free bags to all customers stuck over the 3 week waiting period as a gesture of good will and you should of updated after a month wait on ozbargain thread explaining whats happening"

  • I wouldn't be that fussed about it anyway. I've gone thru my jerky bags and the 40g bags mostly contained jerky that was thin, brittle and tasteless - original flavour isn't usually like that. The 200g bag however was jerky as I remember - much more flavoursome, malleable and slightly thicker pieces of beef.

    • This is my first time trying Geronimo Jerky and I started with the original. Thin, brittle, and tasteless would be my description. Glad (?) to hear it isn't normally like that but I'm a bit let down.
