    • Small business owners can't afford good web design ;)

Source: my CD Key store looked horrible.

  • +1

Yeah, prices are definitely the best, but website security needs work, more so than any other corrections. I'm in Vic, so can't come in to pay/pickup :(

How comes Intel Core i7 6700 show up as $369.99, not $364.99?

  • Thanks OP

Been hanging out for price drop on new release of CPU's but this will have to do. Have a win8 key I need to install on a new system and get the win10 upgrade before end of month!

    • +4

End date for free Windows 10 is JULY 29.

      FYI

      :)

      • +2

Ahh thanks mate, less pressure though I've now chosen the RAM, just need a z170 mobo deal!

  • +2

    Webpage has some oddities..
This is the URL for the 850 EVO:
    http://techmi.com.au/product/oil-paints/?v=2779649604bd

    Oil paints?

Full disclosure I still ordered one

  • This is an incredibly good price for an i7 6700K. If I didn't already have one I would definitely pick one up from here.

Just security looks a bit choppy on this but I think with PayPal should be fine.

  • +4

If this is legit, and given the eBay feedback, etc, it seems so, then #1 priority is to get proper https etc on your website, even if Paypal handles the payment details. Fix that, add more legit details like addresses/ABN and you might have something. Good luck.

  • So, so, so want to buy the 6700k and the SSD. Any chance you'll have these prices in a months time?

  • +1

OP, can you do a good deal for Asus Z170 pro gaming mobo please?

  • Hi OP
If i want to buy the i7 6700 and pickup, can you pm me the address? and do i get a tax invoice for this?

  • Cool, looking to upgrade my comp.

This can be step one, hopefully a <$1000 GTX 1080 isn't too far behind.

Is replacing a CPU a pretty easy process? I remember when I built my computer there was a lot of thermal paste used for the giant fan attached to the CPU case…

    • +1

Yes. You don't need much thermal paste at all. Grain of rice in the middle is enough, and the cooler will squish/spread it. Note that the K skylake processors do not come with a fan/heatsink.

    • What CPU are you coming from? Need a mobo with the LGA1151 socket.

      • +1

        i5 2500k
        ASUS P8Z68-V Gen3 Motherboard - that compatible?

edit: doesn't look like it's compatible - God damnit!
Maybe I'll just stick to being a console peasant…

        • +2

Honestly, you don't even need to upgrade your CPU. That CPU is starting to show its age a bit, but it still kicks ass. Get a GTX 1080 and you're good for anything, really.

Edit: See this for frame rate comparison example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ_5p9wd2dk

        • @MissKitty: Thanks.
I'm wanting to go 1440p or 4k with the GTX1080 - will that cause bottleneck issues using an i5 2500k?

        • @putshan: Technically yes, in that something is always going to be the bottleneck, and you will loose maybe 10-20% fps on CPU intensive games compared to say a i7-6700k. The fps from a 1080 are so high so I'd think it's very rarely going to be an issue, if at all. Maybe for 4k, but it's a close call. You can always get the 1080 and see.

PS. If you did upgrade, like stublu says, you'd need CPU/Mobo and new DDR4 RAM. You'd probably get a couple hundred bucks for your CPU/MB though if you sell it off. The 2500k is still pretty popular.

  • Oh man I really want to upgrade my 2500k :-/

  • +1

Ordered will let everyone know how it goes.

  • +10

A few Folks picked up the items.

Over 15 orders shipped today. Almost all of them CPU.

doesn't really matter when it comes to intel products

      • Does Intel have international warranty?
        I didn't realise

        • +1

Intel don't really state an 'international warranty' to weasel themselves out of addressing legitimate warranty repairs. They have service centres everywhere and have a uniform warranty worldwide from looking at their site.

Intel is so good I bought a dead Intel board off gumtree, mainly just to get the CPU off it, and contacted Intel to try my luck at getting it repaired under warranty, mind you I didn't have receipts or anything. They didn't care about how I got the board, just as long as the pins weren't bent and a socket protector was put on it when I posted it they were sweet. Which is definitely a legitimate request. I knew the board was within their 5 year warranty as it was a recently released board.

It was so easy and they were really helpful. They sent me DHL express post labels, had DHL pick it up from my place, had really accurate tracking and it went to Malaysia and back to me in less than a week.I didn't have to pay for anything.

After that experience, I will pay the premium for intel products (Boards, HDD, CPUs) because customer service like that really matters to me. I have had no problems buying intel products from anywhere around the world.

        • +1

@jenkemjunkie: thanks for your reply and thoughts. Very very helpful

I have always been wary 'just incase' something went wrong.

          Cheers!

  • +2

Also keen on a decent mobo special to go with.

  • +1

All the best of luck with your venture.

Get a SSL certificate and possibly change your hosting to say ventraip or something (Comes with a certificate) 15 bucks a month for hosting is worth the extra security and have people not question how secure your website is.

  • Would be nice when Samsung make the 1TB SSD's a little more affordable… 500gb 850 Evo - $165 is great but double that = $330 but double the capacity is allot more than that :-(

    • +1

      2 x 500GB RAID-0 + hourly backup = :-)

  • Hi OP ordered 6700K and 850 evo 500gb SSD, Order number 150.Thanks for the deal.

  • Purchased 45 minutes ago, already received tracking number and getting delivered tomorrow!!
Thanks OP, will look for your shop in the future

  • +11

I went pick up my SSD this afternoon. The business is a "one-man shop" operating from home with an eBay store front. He opened this Techmi web store because the eBay fees are too much, practically working for eBay instead of himself. Pick up is from his home in Spring Farm, near Narellan.

From what I can gather from our short conversation, his stocks are sourced from the official distributor and he puts them up on Techmi on a minuscule margin to build reputation. Somebody else is building the web store using Woobox (not the free offer I hope). The advice he received is that https is not required because payments and invoice are handled through Sendle/PayPal. He thought no customer details would be kept in the web store, but then the web designer proceeded to build a customer account system that asks for personal details & password. He does have an ABN but what good is it if he doesn't publish it?

Does techmi need an SSL certificate? Yes if he wants to build a good reputation, to keep customers detail secure, to start a mailing list, and to offer credit card payment in the future. No if he wants to keep it simple and if he strips out the customer accounts from his store. This short article should help him: https://www.sslshopper.com/article-do-i-need-an-ssl-certific…

  • Cheap cpu but, 980ti more expensive than 1080…whaaaat?

  • +3

6700K out of stock, will you be getting more stock?

  • worth upgrading my i5-3570k @3.40GHz?

    • +1

Not really. You can overclock the 3570K to crazy levels as well if you need.

      • Thanks.
Tried overlclocking 3570K a few years ago on my z77 extreme4, could only get around +10% before it started crashing

        • -1

Did you follow a guide, research the process, or just boost the clock speeds and hope for the best?

    • im still smashing a 2500K, no need for the upgrades whilst everything works

  • I got a tracking number but cant see where to go to see the tracking. Anyone got a link?

    • Look for an email from Sendle <[email protected]>

That gives you a TRACK YOUR PARCEL link instead.

      • I got an email from Techmi but nothing from Sendle. Will check my spam folder at work tomorrow

      • Nothing in my spam folder, can someone post the link for the tracking site?

        • Mmmmm just received the tracking email….. Strange

  • Looks like the i7-6700K is out of stock already :(

  • Bought i7-6700 and evo 850 500gb.
    thanks op

    • same, i hope it all works out well. Ill leave a good review if it does

OP I have money burning a hole in my pocket for a z170 board. Any of these below would be awesome if you could accommodate please!!
    Asrock Extreme7+
    Gigabyte Gaming 7
Asus Maximus VIII Hero or Ranger
    Asus pro gaming
    MSI Gaming M5

    • +1

Same here! grabbing the MSI M5 as soon as I see it on sale

      • A vote for the Asus Maximus Hero Alpha.

        • Would love to get the Alpha but a bit out of my price range at ~$500..
Maybe OP can help us out! ;)

        • @stevenlab91:

Best price I have seen including postage is $449.

        • +1

          @Spizz:
          Thanks mate!
Just saw on static ice for that price!
Makes it a bit more feasible
Building a whole new system from the ground up but gonna wait for non-reference GTX 1070 after the prices settle so there's time to grab a special before then. Here's hoping anyway hah

    • Hey

If you are still looking for a motherboard sale, I stumbled across this one today.
Same as Futu, they have 20% off storewide ("clickmore" at checkout).
They've got the Asus Maximus VIII Ranger and also the Gigabyte gaming 6.

      Couple other Z170's as well

      • Yup thx I saw those but:
Asus maxmimus I'd go Hero over Ranger for such a small price difference.
Likewise for Gigabyte I'd go Gaming 7 over 6.

Such a pity they didn't list those 2 models :(

  • +1

Hopefully the 6700k comes back in stock for $420 shipped. Next cheapest price is $444 shipped from Futu via Ebay 20% promotion.

  • +1

Received package within 24 hours of purchase! Thanks OP

  • +1

6700k sold out, any more stock coming?

  • Hey just sent a PM

price for evo is different on site, would like to take the i7 6700 and the evo 500gb

Would like to pick up please PM me good time/location

  • The evo is $179.99 on the website and the shipping comes up as $47??

    • I have a feeling that the price went up on the SSD because they've already sold out once

    • Are you non-metro area?

You should be charged Sendle flat rates as per this page:

      https://www.sendle.com/#pricing

  • +1

Ordered i5-6600 yesterday from this guy, shipped today - love these prices from such a new vendor!

    Keep it up!

  • What's the performance difference between the 6700 and the 6700k?

  • @ techmi, you guys should get the new GTX 1070 and 1080 in the site. And also the new Broadwell E processors. If you manage to provide good prices on all of them, you guys will have a great start then.

  • Hi guys, anyone bought anything from this store yet, received it and tested its functionality?

    • +2

I got a i76700 and 500gb evo, havn't tested the components yet but they arrived fully sealed (legit factory stickers) and within 2 days interstate (nsw to vic).
