  • Bloody hell, these thing's just keep getting cheaper and cheaper…if you've never wondered what the fuss is about, get one. I don't actually mount mine, just keep it on the passenger seat. Good deal!

  • yeah good price, and sensis maps are good, but i suppose for this price no free map upgrades in future?
also they have a 600w inverter for $69, damn that's low, but i'm thinking thats peak watts

  • you can pick up a 1500w continuous for around $130 these days

  • i bought the same GPS unit (under different casing/brand) from The Reject Shop, and it works pretty good.
Very quick to detect GPS signal and the functions are good for what you pay for. I previously used TomTom but for the $, this is definitely great value.

The only proviso is the quality of the maps. I think the GPS and software itself is fine, but if the maps are outdated, then you'll get odd directions eg. an overpass over a freeway, the unit told me to turn at the 'intersection', and on a stretch of road near me, it tells me to box around it (turn left, turn right, turn right, turn left) if that makes sense.

i think this is the link to the software.

With Aldi's 60day return policy, its a no brainer.

  • It's only slightly more expensive to buy this new unit than to upgrade the software on my old one :-O

  • Anybody know the internal memory size, if it has extenal memory card slot and the model number of this 3.5" GPS?

Also what the battery life like on these units?

    UPDATE 13/5/2010

Not long after opening time looks like these GPS are all sold out. As they were selling very quickly and none left at my ALDI.
