Great price Op, with the free surge protector it is a better deal than the current group buy, TA's deal and my updated deal.

Thanks. Gotta love the Ebay price wars.

      • +2

yeah a bit of competition is great for everyone except the retailers margins haha

Better than TA's deal but will not get more votes

Hmm your conspiracy is making me thirsty for some legendary Mt F :)

  • ****PLEASE NOTE: THIS PRODUCT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 'FTTN' NBN CONNECTIONS****

Wouldnt have a clue what nbn i have.

    • +3

If you needed to have an installer come into your home and install a white coloured box with blinky-blinky lights into your interior walls (it looks like this, then you have what's called FTTP (Fiber to the Premises) connection.

In which case, you can use the TP LINK ARCHER 'D' series.

      • Thanks. Just found this in the rollout plan.

        Services ready 17-June
Premises by technology Fibre to the Node 3,903 (100%)
So it looks i cannot use this one then… Good to know.

If your NBN connection is provided via Node, you will need a NBN-approved VDSL modem / router, such as this, this, or this

(BTW, the Netgear D7000 is one of the best options and is highly recommended, although it is pricey).

        • @scrimshaw: Where do you see the ones you pointed out listed as NBN-approved?

        • @ddaus:

  • would it be worth it to spend a bit more on the nighthawk d7000?

    • You and "scrimshaw2" are taking about the same product. Nighthawks are made by NetGear.

    • Search whirlpool forums for real world performance tests on most of these modems and routers.

  • I live at the real edge of ADSL2 line limit (3.4kms from the exchange) will this modem allow to tweak the line SNR with apps like DMT or Routerstats that I can currently do on my DGND3700V2 to get that little extra on speed.Normally I get around 5500Kbps with the apps tweak I get around 6500Kbps. Thanks

  • Is it voip compatible. Looking for naked dsl iinet

    • +1

For VoIP, people usually buy a good modem/router along with VoIP phone handset or adapter because modem/routers with built-in voip usually don't compare well in terms of performance. Have a look at this thread

    • I'm also looking (to replace my aging Billion 7404 wireless VOIP router) on iiNet's naked DSL service. I have a standard cordless phone plugged into one of the phone ports on the Billion - it works OK and I was hoping to do the same on this router (or the Netgear R7000 - also on special atm).

  • Can't remove stand to attach to Wall.very annoying

Finally pulled the trigger and bought a new router. Couldn't pass this up. Been chugging along with my 802.11n router for the last 4 years. Still goes alright, but hopefully ac is a nice upgrade.
Not sure I really need the range extender, given I live in a 2 bed unit, but hey, why not?

    • You'll love it. And yeah, range extender is nice as a bonus but not really required even for a 3 bedroom house.

From memory, the Belkin power surge thingy is the Pro series 1000 2-port model, with $50k connected equipment cover - it's RRP is $29.95:

      http://www.belkin.com/au/BV102020-CW-Belkin/p/P-BV102020-CW;…

Useful for those who don't already have surge protection on the home theatre or PC gear.

  • $111 [RIP]

  • Coaxile connection?

Great (powerful) router, if your undecided with this deal I'd definitely pull the trigger.

  • This or a Netgear Nighthawk?

  • I just received mine, but no range extender included. Also no range extender on the invoice.
Contacted them to see if they can just give a partial refund (which would be good since I didn't really need it).
    Got the surge protector though.

Mine arrived last week - great signal strength compared with the Belkin N600 it replaced.

You need to claim the range extender from TP-Link - it's a redemption and will take several weeks to arrive following lodgement of the claim via their website (proof of purchase and serial number required) etc.

      • Oh right…Thanks. I didn't realize that. Obviously didn't read properly:

Please visit TP-Link's promotion page to find out how to redeem your bonus Re210 Range Extender
        http://www.tp-link.com.au/promo-2016-06/"

Going overseas for 3 weeks tomorrow, so might just do that when I get back. Redemption closes on 7 August 2016.

That's an Archer C9 which is router only. This deal is on Archer D9 which is modem+router (plus bonuses).

Thanks - managed to get in before the deal expired. Will go nicely with my new ADSL connection. :)
