Thanks OP. These frequent ebay deals are making me spend a lot more than I should be. :)

  • Fantastic. I was looking for an excuse to buy the new DS416play

    • +2

I was thinking about the DS916. The 2GB model comes down to $599.20 after discount, which is about $40 cheaper than anything else on staticice.

      • +2

I was about to post this as a deal. Great NAS - I got the 8GB model when it was released, and it hasn't skipped a beat.

  • +6

They just need to start selling GTX1070, so I can get it with 20% off!

    • +3

I'm after an AIB 1080 but they only have flounders. :(

      • +48

        same…stupid sexy flounders :(

        • Do you overclock your flounder?

        • @Diji1: yeah, but this new 8GB GOLDFISH-X RAM doesn't seem to overclock well.

  • +15

20 % off is now becoming a norm in ebay . Hope the sellers dont jack up the items before sale.

    • +16

It's more they remove anything of real value. All the stuff they can't move goes on eBay.

I know masters isn't included this time but in the other deals, none of their reputable brand tools go on eBay which means I've bought nothing from the last few 20% sales.

Not suggesting there haven't been any good deals but there haven't been any for me personally.

      • A lot of major brands will restrict what retailers will sell online. Bob's hardware doesn't care and nor would their supplier, but big ones like Masters will take notice

  • +2

Are they trying to do 20% off each category until it's site wide?

    • +6

I'd like to see 50% off BBQs again

      • +21

        So would Tom

      • Ah yes, BBQ skewer with free PS4 for 50% off. Golden.

        • Did Tom fulfill his orders?

        • +2

          @stemcell: I got mine :-)

        • Haha link please?

  • They always do but only by 15% so they are still 5% cheaper than the rest so we still buy it.

  • +14

Hmmmm. Maybe time to experiment and snapshot the prices of a few things before and compare after.

  • +2

    In my shopping list..

    Usb to network cable
    hdmi to vga cable
    Bose qc25 headphones
    Torx screwdriver set
    latop carry case

    • +1

Don't know if they will be in this sale but I would recommend listening to the Bose QC35's before pulling the trigger.
At least to my untrained ears the sound and noise cancellation is worlds above the QC25's

        • -4

I hear [pun unintended] this bogus claims before too. When all their years of listening to music just ends up with them having to listen to music louder and louder just to hear certain tones. Thats called tone deafness. Its how losing your hearing starts.

Hearing is not like an off switch. Its a gradual decline through years of exposing your ears to loud noise.

        • +14

That is as silly as saying an untrained wine taster is just as good at judging if a wine is good as a sommelier.

You may not be able to improve your hearing, but you can improve your critical listening skills. So if someone has years of experience judging sound quality (e.g. a sound engineer) they can say they have a trained ear.

        • -8

          @dtpearson:

can't really compare wine tasting to judging sound quality. Because i doubt you will lose your sense of taste over years being a wine taster but you can lose your hearing listening to progressively louder and louder music.

        • +10

          @xoom:

They are referring to your brain's ability to analyse music which can improve, not your ear's ability to pick it up in the first place, which doesn't. Someone who produces quality music can hear every nuance of every instrument and this definitely improves over time. Other people just hear one big sound blended together. This has nothing to do with the operation of the ears which may be the same in both cases.

Wine tasting is similar. The taste buds don't improve but the ability of the taster to separate out the different notes/flavours does.

        • @dtpearson:
However I have heard that professional wine tasters are not necessarily better at judging a good wine either.

      • +1

Crazy that the QC35 doesn't have aptX (or even better aptX LL) support.

One of the reviews I read said that the QC35's still sound much better wired.

Anyway just something to think about. Have to wonder whether aptX was left out to please Apple (who don't currently support it).

    • +1

Link to the QC25's? Can't find them from these sellers. Ta.

      • +2

Myer is having a 20% OFF sale on ebay too. Qc 25 for 320 after discount. Not too bad.

        • Link to Myer's 20% off?

Edit: saw on stores hub page

        • @ldstr: Item went 'out of stock' pretty soon after I posted this. :( THe listing was still there but now it's gone…

        • What 20% of myer sale is this? I can't find an active deal for it, is their a coupon code?

  • +2

Just chatted to an eBay rep.

I would like to inform you that as of now we do not have the any update regarding this promotion.

  • +10

I want to buy, but I am running out ideas on what to buy.

    • +33

This is ozbargain. You buy random crap and think about uses for it later.

  • again 20 off????, is this real life??

    • +15

      No it is just fantasy….

    • +1

      No it's just fantasy

Edit: beaten by xoom by 51 seconds lol

      • You took 51 seconds to write that?

        • +7

typing with one hand on my phone while feeding my two year old breakfast with the other.

        • -3

          @Chickenleg:

I'm taking a dump at the moment, no where near 50 seconds to write this

        • +5

@faceman54: you definitely don't have children then, my kids come and latch onto my legs and/or try to grab my phone to play games when i'm on the throne.

        • -1

          @Chickenleg: I don't look forward to kids… :(

        • +5

@faceman54: enjoy pooping in peace while you can! :P (seriously though - you do take many things for granted when you're child free, especially everyday things like crapping, having a snack, browsing OzBargain or brushing your teeth without a maniac toddler harassing you. Life changes a LOT)

        • +4

@faceman54: You don't have to have them you know!

        • +1

          @Chickenleg:

          We've got a 7 week old. Can't wait!

        • @SteveAndBelle:

          Lol, this is Steve, right?

        • @spillmill: Yes… but 'Belle' thankfully feels the same way plus we're now at the age where it's unlikely a 'joyous accident' will be occuring anyway. Bullet dodged :)

        • @SteveAndBelle:

          Haha, fair enough

        • +1

@SteveAndBelle: can never say never, know someone who had a baby at 44. This same lady in her 30's after several unsuccessful rounds of invitro was told it was impossible for her to conceive.

        • @jdf: Yes, hence 'unlikely' :) Great news for that lady though, I do really feel for those who desperately want kids but can't. Must be a living hell.

        • -1

@SteveAndBelle: I like sex, so kids inherent from that, oh… And I like my balls to so no snip!

          Oh…. Condoms are for seamen!

        • @faceman54: too much information?! ;-)

        • @Hen:

Just make sure you keep your cock under control… Hen!

$720 for sigma 35mm 1.4 art at ryda.

    • Such a good lens

    • $899 for Nikon.

      • Gotta wait for the sale and provided they dont jack the prices, it will be $720 at ryda. Both canon and nikon btw.

    • +1

      Bought it for my Nikon.

    • Damn, now I am eyeing on the Nikon d810 body only.

    • hi zorrt, could you pls post the direct link, can't find it on ebay. thanks

      • I think youve missed out, both canon and nikons mounts dont seem to be listed anymore.

        • the 30mm f1.4 art is still available in both mounts.

        • yea, thinking to get a 50mm 1.4 for portrait.

  • +1

Damn no Samsung 850 pro :(

$50 EBAY VOUCHER WHEN YOU SPEND $200+ ON EDISONS

Should be $200+ given how utter crap the gear is that Edison's sells.

  • Any I-phones?

    • +4

Yes but the prices are coincidentally significantly higher than buying from Apple directly.

      • Ausluck has the 6s 64gb for $929, so it comes down to $743 and about $735 with CR which is a bit less than Apple I think.

        • +2

I don't see that in the search… link?

It appears to be listed at 1,229$ on Ausluck's store before discount…?

  • -1

    No masters :(

  • +7

Nice work OP, though that collection of participants is somewhat uninspiring.

  • Any good 24inch+ gaming monitors with higher than 1080p? (Asking because I have no idea what stores to look at).

    • I think there's some Korean monitors with higher res and offering good value. Catleap brand maybe. It's a gamble with pixel warranty though

      • +2

some Korean monitors are good overclockers too, I think some people were getting 100hz from the panels, which would be an amazing setup for the new 1070.

  • I went to pick up a few items I bought yesterday at the PO and noticed a couple of trolleys full of large items, and I thought, wow, final days of the 20% off aye? as I lined up to be served, a guy takes one of the over loaded trolley full of 32" tvs and other large items out the door, a fellow ozbargainer or broden?

  • +2

The last 20% finished last night. Already?
More stores I know but after purchasing something last night I hope I don't somehow get screwed by this new sale.

    • +3

It's seems like eBay is becoming a a store we might only buy when there is a sale on ( with significant discounts off the somewhat inflated prices).
