    yawn … woolworths dollars

    • woolworth dollars = Opal dollars = pretty much cash

        i prefer real dollar bills

        • I can give you bills worth much more than $100.

        • @lostn:

          This bill is priceless!

        • +1

much better deal than the 6% off wish gift card. you need to spend $94 to get $100 WISH 'dollars'

This deal you only need to spend $0 to get the $100 'dollars'

      • If you put it that way, only applicable to:

        • Those that live in Sydney and;
        • Those that take public transport or;
        • Those that live in Sydney and are willing to go get a refund on an Opal card
        • Most people will use public transport at some point… given the prices of Sydney's transport, 100 bucks isn't a lot of trips.

Also, I am just giving an example. Not saying this is the ONLY way to spend it.

If you tell me you have never been into a Woolworth in the last quarter, you must live in a very rural area….

        • @shadow131: not disagreeing with you at all

Just responding directly to how you put it (about woolies dollars equaling opal dollars). I'm just saying it's not really applicable if you don't live in Sydney and don't take public transport. You'll be surprised. There are people (probably not many ozbargainers, I would assume) who don't take public transport!

By you now saying "you must live in a very rural area" you're changing what this discussion was about.

I have no issue with woolies dollars. $100 woolies dollars, $100 note, both are fine to me.

          lol

      • More info here

      • The catch here is the woolworth dollars are redeemable only after you've spent $10.

Feel free to send your woolworths dollars my way.

  • is it easy to cancel?

    • Yes, but hard to get approve. Also transaction (including available credit) may take up to 5 business day to appear in your account

      • They always appear as pending for me immediately and are subtracted from my available balance.

They change from pending to actual with 1-2 business days.

        • I had one around May last year, may be thing have changed since I complaint.

        • @LoveBargain15: overhaul of systems since Macquarie took over the card.

  • o yea i know, it is harder to get approved, unlike coles mastercard =)

  • that reminds me. I gotta cancel my from last year.

I'm confused by the comments. Is a "Woolworths dollar" equivalent to a real dollar but only redeemable at Woolworths (and subsidiaries, eg BigW)?

So get one of these cards in your name and another in partners name, spend $200 at Woolies and then cancel the card?

    • Kept searching and found these notes:
      https://www.woolworthsrewards.com.au/support/

      • It's simple. One Woolworths Dollar is worth $1 AUD off a future eligible shop.

      • Remember: Woolworths Dollars can only be redeemed in multiples of $10. For example, if your Woolworths Dollars balance is $12 and you spend $14 in an eligible shop, you'll get $10 off.

      • There's no limit to the amount of Woolworths Dollars you can redeem in one transaction. However, given that when you reach $10 Woolworths Dollars you automatically redeem on your next eligible shop, it's unlikely you'll have more than $10 to redeem at any one time. And remember you can only redeem in multiples of $10. Any remaining Woolworths Dollars will remain in your balance.

      • Certain products are excluded from program benefits. These include gift cards, cash withdrawals, mobile phone recharges, cigarettes, tobacco products and selected services.

  • do you still earn points if you use this card to pay the ato?

  • I have a citibank signature credit card and would love to use such a free offer to park 20-30k in the homeloan offset. My credit card is paid off in full. How would i go about using such an offer?

  • applied, thanks

    • and approved.

seems any purchase is an eligible purchase?

  • I cancelled this card This year March, Can I Apply again or do I have to wait a year?
