Just hope your order doesn't arrive damaged or defective in any way with this merchant. Unbelievably horrible warranty system.

eGlobal have always delivered in a reliable 7 days for me.
I've never had a DOA or warranty issue to speak of though.

Hmm HK Version is $269 Shipped @ DWI

Not sure if OP's is 'HK version' as well

    • Sorry… what difference does this make?

      • The HK model forgoes the Pro naming and has a stamp on its back saying that it is for sale in HK or smth. Nothing else is different

    • I got the HK version from DWI, was $299 last month. Global ROM, no Chinese crap on it either. Delivered in a week. Good buy.

      • Good to know.
If one were to want to put Cyanogenmod on it, this HK vs other version discussion doesnt really matter right?

  • I think this $236 deal might still be current

It's expired. The discount code no longer works.

  • So would this phone be better than my Samsung note 2 which seems a bit slow these days?

    • +2

This phone is comparable to the Note 4 in terms of performance, should be an upgrade to your Note 2 in every way besides the removable battery and stylus :)

      • Thanks for the info

    Cheaper deals elsewhere.

If monty's deal for A$236 is expired, then you could always get the same phone for A$250 with 4 week shipping or A$268 with DHL shipping

Sorry OP - appreciate the effort though!

  • Can vouch for these guys got one from a deal a while ago. There was a short delay with them "waiting for new stock" (about 3 days) but after it shipped boy did it ship fast, 3 business days to arrive here!

Can also vouch for them having a sub-par warranty system lol. It took 20 business days (28 days) to resolve an issue with the backlights on the hardware keys.

27/04-03/05: to confirm my case was legit (asked for video and stuff normal things I guess)
04/05-13/05: to ship it over there (there was a weird issue with battery declaration? Caused a delay but it shipped and got over there within 3 days when it started moving)
13/05-23/05: for them to inspect it and decide to send me a new one
2 days later: arrived (25th May) just on time for my birthday the next day :D

If you could go back in time… would you do it all again?

  • Looks like GearBest is having a sale too..
    $260
but GB will take about 2 to 4 weeks to deliver (depends on luck) unless you pay extra for express

    • stupid question here, will this phone works on Telstra 4G or whatever band that Telstra uses.
      thanks.

      • Yes it'll work and on 4G. It will miss band 28 which doesn't mean much in practice but some people like to point out that coverage may be worse in rural areas.

        • +1

in rural areas if you can't get any other 4G bands it will drop back to NextG (3G 850Mhz), which has by far the widest coverage. If you can't get 850Mhz 3G then you won't be getting anything.. Quite usable unless perhaps you want to tether a whole office off of it.

Seems like a good deal to me, esp with the global ROM and free express shipping. But why is there much less interest this time from the OzBargainers as compared to the $273 deal two months ago?

    • Look above, there is a current deal for A$236. In short they can be found cheaper elsewhere.

      • But seems like the phone from that deal comes with a vendor ROM (which requires flashing to a global rom and not everyone is comfortable with that), and many people who ordered still had their orders being processed, and many were disappointed that the delivery wasn't through TOLL.

I bought the same phone for $273 from the eGlobal deal two months ago and I must say I am very happy with everything - the hassle-free global ROM and the speed of delivery by TOLL priority.

So the current deal is pretty good IMHO

        • Fair enough. Horses for courses.

Out of interest, do you get monthly OTA updates to your phone? I see people's comments that they have the global ROM and that's all well and good but a few months ago I bought the Redmi Note 2 from Banggood with the supposed global ROM but never got OTA updates. Then I discovered later that what I had was still a vendor ROM and not official which is why I wasn't getting the monthly OTA updates. So I flashed the official global ROM and sure enough now I get regular OTA updates.

Just wondering how many sellers claim they put global ROM on but it's actually a near-identical vendor ROM and the buyers aren't any the wiser? The OTA updates are the only way to be sure I guess.

        • +1

@PBG: Yes I do get regular OTA updates, that's why I'm more in favour of buying Redmi Note 3 Pro from eGlobal than from others. Just bought one for my sis from this deal, fingers crossed it comes with global ROM.

    Caveat Emptor!

A new version of the Redmi Note 3 for Taiwan has been announced.

    Now with Band 28 Support.

See specs here, most of it is in Chinese but you can see the top table of bands has Band 28 listed clearly.

    • Huge! Great find!

    • This is good news for those who haven't get ordered.. but is it worth the wait… and presumably extra cost??

  • $273 now with free express shipping.

    Is this Hong Kong version?

    • From this comment i think it is HK version

      • May be, but I want Silver/White version but their silver/white version said China version.
