Do they give a roast date?

    • +1

There is a best before date 10 May 17 on the back and another date could be the manufacturer/batch/roast date 1316M (1 March 2016)

Bargain. I bought a couple of packs last week at woollies for $20 each.
Always on sales at either store every few weeks or so.

    • Yes, but this is the cheapest I've seen so far. Their sales price was down to $20 for the last 6 months.

  • In my experience these don't come close to medium roast Aldi beans $11 a kilo every day. Unfortunately still no roast date, but they're amazingly consistent and taste fantastic! Worth a try.

    • Seriously Aldi beans are CRAP. I tried it before and ended up in the bin. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone on Ozbargain.

Matter of taste I guess but I've had bad experiences with the mountain blend but enjoying Aldi at almost half the price for over a year now.

    • I've noticed that aldi beans are really weak strength for the caffeine hit. I was having to make quite a few cups each day to get some kind of effect. Better off spending more money and drinking less cups of a more expensive brand. Even the Coles $12 med/dark is an improvement on aldi in my opinion

I couldn't get a decent crema out of these beans whatsoever. I threw them away.

    • What coffee machine are you using?

      • I tried on my Bezzera and it was absolutely the worst coffee the machine has ever pulled. The grinder is a commercial Gaggia.

I suspect my beans were stale, hence the half price. You get what you pay for in this instance.

  • I have been using Lavazza caffe espresso, I make many coffees for friends and always get very positive comments. Did try the Aldi's once - weak. Lavazza usually on special every few months. I use the double shot as I like a good strong coffee.
