    ALiEXPRESS huh?
Estimated Delivery Time: 39-60 days (ships out within 7 business days)

I wonder how reliable these retailers are. Do they just rely on the fact that once you pay you're not going to chase up a sub $1 item?

On the other hand it probably is just as sturdy as the $30 types….not because it's so good but because what gets sold for $30 in Aus often comes from the same cheap factory and is just rebadged. AT MOST you get what you pay for - it's quite possible to get badly ripped off.

    • +1

they rely on the fact that they don't get the money until you confirm you're happy with it

    • +7

It is extremely easy to get back your money if the item doesn't come.

When you pay with Alipay the money is held up by Aliexpress first. The seller doesn't receive the money until you've gone into your "My Orders" page and then click "confirmed goods received".

And if it doesn't, you can make some noise.

If you raise a dispute, you can get your money back in a fairly short amount of time. I have done it succesfully 3 or 4 times already.

      • That's a pretty good system tbh.

        • +3

          If buyers are being honest.

        • @tomsco: I assume buyers would have to confirm that they've received the items in a set time frame otherwise they would mark it as received.

      • 3 or 4 times it's gone bad? Out of how many orders?

      • There's virtually no warranty should things go south … at least in my case where I spent close to $2K on Hikvision gear and 7 months down the track the NVR gave up on me. Choose ebay sellers located in Australia, or even better if they have an ABN and has been in business for more than a year.

Sometimes paying a little above overseas prices does provide a peace of mind when dealing with warranty issues.

        • +3

Its a $1 item, thats what aliexpress is great for. $2K at Aliexpress or any far away retailer is taking a much bigger risk

I am not familiar with the standard "tap size" in Australia.

Will this item fit most of our kitchen taps in Australia?

"Fits all standard taps with M22 external thread and internal thread M24"

    • +1

Bunnings aerators state "Fits standard taps with 21-23mm thread". I think these will fit most taps.

Bunnings aerators state "Fits standard taps with 21-23mm thread". I think these will fit most taps.

        Thank you!

  • Those kind of things keep me wondering how much it cost to ship these?

    • +3

Nearly free as the Chinese govt subsidises shipping costs.

      • And so do we (indirectly) everytime we pay for postage within Australia. Doesn't really seem fair that some old granny is paying $1 to send a letter to her grandkids to allow us ozbargainers to have rediculously cheap stuff delivered by Australia Post vans but what can we do.

        • +1

Granny only pays 65c (or maybe 70c) - Seniors rate. And even then the volume of Granny mail wouldn't come anywhere near to subsidising the costs of ChinaPost deliveries. Its the Tax payer who is paying. ($500Mill loss this year)

        • +1

          @RockyRaccoon:

Granny only pays 60¢ per stamp (up to a limit of 50 stamps per year) if she buys them in booklets of five, and she gets her first booklet of five stamps for free. Source.

        • @RockyRaccoon: What's the tax payer paying for?

        • @Diji1: Its owned by the people as a government corporation, so as its making a loss of $500m this year (ABC news), the owners have to pay these losses. The owners being the people, so in effect we the people pay. If not directly we pay because other services have to be cut.

          If that is your question.

@kurisu: absolutely correct, 60c my recall wasnt that great

You are so wrong…… still got your mindset back in the 1980s mate……

These are sold in different weekend markets between$10-$20
While they work well for few years I am worried about the materials used. This may not be food grade virgin plastic.
Luckily the chrome plated parts not in direct contact with water.
On another note the chrome plated plastic cutlery to be banned . They are not easily recyclable. And deadly cytotoxic chemicals are inpregnated into plastic during the plating process.

Thank you, you saves me .90c

    Hey it's ozbargain!!! 😷

After cashback that's 86 Australian cents.

Just can't say no at that price!

  • +1

Be careful… this may be targeted at the American market. Their standards differ. Some countries measure diameter with thread, some without. And i believe Americans use a different thread angle for tapware. I'd be surprised if this thing fits an Australian tap.

    • +1

This is an American faucet, we use taps over here

    • I bought some of these in a dollar store in the US a few years back and they work ok here. It fits on the end of the tap. They seem to last from one to 3 years before the plastic gives way.

  • +1

This is garbage plastic. Leaves under pressure. Sloppy as.

  • +5

I have purchased a few of these. The best ones are avaliable from bunnings, and are made in Italy. The rest are rubbish.

  • +12

If you buy one and it doesn't fit…. faucet.
