I don't think WA should have a license to print our money. What if they print a shit tonne and then Wexit?

    • +4

Wexit? WAxit is better. Gets rid of the fluff :)

    • +5

We've already had the Wexit referendum but the government didn't like the outcome so they ignored it… possibly not that different to the Brexit.

Is that why Tassie is so far away, did they Taxit?

      • +5

        No, they Inbrexit 😂😂😂😂

No point in WA printing money… it'll just get sent to the other states, like the proceeds of the mining boom :)
We'll be printing food coupons soon, the way our economy is going…

      • it'll just get sent to the other states, like the proceeds of the mining boom :)

Just a clarification - most of the proceeds from the mining boom went to foreign investors and governments. Only a small percentage was tax which remained in the country.

If there are any kids who are into coin collecting they probably wouldn't want something like that… :P

It's aluminium bronze so it's only worth face value surely, call it a collectable all you'd like but there's a reason they can sell these cheaper and it's because you're still spending $6.95 on a $1 coin.

I had a quick look through all of the things on their page and everything is a minimum double spot price on silver/gold most are around 4x spot, with some even higher.

  • quick look they have the 1oz silver for $60 delivered was $75
combine with ebay coupon if you still have, $45

A $1 coin for $7 is no bargain. There are real collectors, and there are suckers. This will only appeal to the latter market.

I still have some of those $5 coins from 1988, which are now worth five dollars, or $2.30 in 1988 dollars. So I was the latter market.
But at least I only paid face value, not seven times. I was not quite that dumb.

    • I found a 20c coin from 1967 in my money box.

How much is that worth today?

      • JFGI.
Circulated? 20 cents. Unless you can be bothered ebaying it.
Maybe a dollar as part of a set. Gain is less than inflation anyway.

  • The $6.95 various animal coins with a stamped envelop is good value for kids presents.

  • Perth mint ebay store = rip off. An ounce of gold is over 2k on the ebay store, and around 1.8k on their own page.

    • Perth mint always been a rip off anyway

      • Yep, it's like 1000% markup price.

  • The coin look like one of the XMen character.

  • They are sooo slow to send the orders :)
