The most expensive thing you've bought because of OzBargain?

Pretty straight forward: what's the most you've spent on anything because you saw it on OzBargain?

To make it a little more interesting you can do a couple of different categories:

  • Something you already intended on buying but found a particular bargain for it on here. Example: You were going to buy a new T.V. and as a happy coincidence someone posted a link to some great deals.

  • Something you had no intention of buying (or even knowledge of its existence) but once you saw it on here you decided to buy it.

And, just for the hell of it:

  • Something you've bought here that you've gotten practically no use out of. This might just be the same as the second thing above.

Lastly, you can make up your own category if you think of a good one.

For me it's:

  • AV Receiver which was about $640
  • Zinc alloy keycaps (WASD)
  • Some ties I bought are still in my drawer and I haven't worn those ones yet.

Flights to France at $1159 via thai airways. Luckily it wasn't crowded so I got a four seat bed on the way there.

Everything I buy from ozbargain, I don't have in mind to buy…
I buy because I see it and I'm like okay cool I'll get it because it's "cheap".

    • Dyson hot cool fan(already have portable heaters and fans at home) LOL
    • Shoes? Didn't need butttt free delivery and sale
    • Clothing.. Same deal as above regarding shoes
    • Jaybirds (already had headphones but due to "deal I bought it)

Yeah more or less same reasoning to buy stuff. At least they're not like computers and tvs or what not.

Eneloops …. Not because of the price per unit, just the sheer quantity.

  • Stupid heart rate monitor that I bought from Myer I lost the usb part & now it sits in my draw never to see the light of day again

    • Maybe get a replacement part on eBay?

    • Yeah I bought a Kmart one I saw on Ozbargain. Reduced to five dollars and with good reason. It worked, but it just plain didn't connect half the time. Plus putting that thing on your chest all the time is a pain in the ass.

I just got an Apple Watch and never looked back.

      • I don't exercise and have never looked back

    • It's funny, I had never heard of the Waterford brand until the other day. Now I have heard about it twice in less than 3 days.

    • Hahaha, wow. In that case I wonder what the cheapest thing you bought was.

    • Lol I flew the thing once or twice then in the bin it went!

    • OMG how many of those did you buy?

Got a Dyson V6 about a month ago for ~$320, that may be the most expensive thing I've got. Maybe my xbox one? Nothing really stands out.
I however have not purchased a new TV several times because I've looked it up and found it cheaper previously on Ozbargain. Specifically I was going to buy this about a year ago for around $1,300, but then saw it had been under $1000. So I didn't. And I still don't have a 60 inch TV.

  • PCByte ebay deal like 2 years ago, I think was $450

    Galaxy s6 edge $598

    Still useing it

    • Just realised I bought this phone as well. That deal is my most expensive also. That was the best deal, bit of a muck around but worth the trouble

  • Asus U31F from Dick Smith for around $450 X 2 (but was buying them for a friend.)

Well I bought return flights to Asia for $300 but then I ended up spending about $5k on travelling for 5 weeks. Does that count? Similarly I spent about $3k on a trip to USA, with the flights costing about $1k.

  • Flights overseas - had no intention of going but was brought to my attention on here so thought, what the hell. Also hotel deals. So mainly impromptu trips. No regrets.

  • $6000 with Qantas deal. Saved $2400

  • The "post obviously expensive thing no one would buy" joke has been done.

  • The 55" 4k Sony TV from JB Hi-Fi for $1500. Due to shipping issues they threw in a $50 gift card and it was personally delivered by the store manager. He also stuck around, gave me a beer and helped set it up :)

  • Not sure if this counts, but a full-frame DSLR camera + two lenses during one of the ebay 20% off offers that I read about here. $4600 less $920 = $3790 (with delivery).

I had wanted one for years, and when I saw this I pulled the trigger.

  • Air fares to Europe, mower, phone

  • PS4
