I wish you'd listed the next best price you could find it for instead the RRP which is just made up to make it look better than it is.

Repco have the MXS4.0 with bumper for the same price.

Can get the MXS5.0 for not much more (around $118)

    • And they usually come with a few extras such as extra eyelets cable for the clip in cable, a battery charge gauge etc

  • I have one of these, paid much less than the listed RRP, it's great for motorbike batteries, but it struggles with heavy duty car/4WD batteries.

  • are these chargers metal-shelled or is that silver-painted plastic?

    • Silver painted plastic

Why would u want a steel shell?

Ive hd one for years and still going strong. Great for keeping a battery charged when overseas

      • Why would u want a steel shell?

I dislike silver paint, that's why I was asking.

        • Lol just silver or all painted/coated plastics? Why discriminate against silver paint?

        • @BKZ:
pretty much all coated plastics; it just so happens that silver is the most common. Chargers further up in their range aren't coated, which is good. If they do get a scratch or whatever, it's not so noticeable. They would actually save money by not coating things in silver paint; I don't know who goes for this stuff and thinks it's impressive. It makes the product tacky, IMO.

        • @cheepwun: fair point… to be honest though mine has been going strong for the last 6 years.

Have the motorbike connected to it now as a trickle charger.

          Not this model though…
