ANZ FF/Rewards Black CC 75k QF/Rewards Points (after First Purchase) - Annual Fee $375/$425

160

So it's back, from outer space. I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face.. but no seriously, it's back…..again.

Was looking at the Westpac card and comparing it to what I have now, which is the ANZ Black. So worth changing over if you're up to your year and about to be stung with an annual fee. Least you can do a balance transfer and continue on to get some extra points.

This covers both the ANZ Rewards and ANZ Frequent Flyer range of cards. For context, 75k Qantas Points can get you a one-way Business class fare (excl. taxes) to destinations like Singapore, Hong Kong.

75k Rewards Points can be converted to 37.5k Velocity Points (2:1), which can then be converted to 27777 KrisFlyer Miles through Velocity (as opposed to converting direct from ANZ Rewards to KrisFlyer, which would net you 25000 KrisFlyer Miles).

Summary of the cards that are part of the offer:

  • ANZ Rewards Black: 75k Rewards Points w/ first purchase within 3 months. AMEX Earn Rate: 3pts/$. Visa Earn Rate: 2pts/$. Annual Fee: $375
  • ANZ Rewards Platinum: 50k Rewards Points w/ $2.5k spend within 3 months. AMEX Earn Rate: 3pts/$. Visa Earn Rate: 1.5pts/$. Annual Fee: $149
  • ANZ Rewards: 25k Reward Points w/ $2.5k spend within 3 months. AMEX Earn Rate: 2pts/$. Visa Earn Rate: 1.5pts/$. Annual Fee: $89
  • ANZ Frequent Flyer Black: 75k QF Points w/ first purchase within 3 months. AMEX Earn Rate: 1.5pts/$. Visa Earn Rate: 1pts/$. Annual Fee: $425
  • ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum: 50k QF Points w/ $2.5k spend within 3 months. AMEX Earn Rate: 1.5pts/$. Visa Earn Rate: 0.5pts/$. Annual Fee: $295
  • ANZ Frequent Flyer: 25k QF Points w/ $2.5k spend within 3 months. AMEX Earn Rate: 1pt/$. Visa Earn Rate: 0.5pts/$. Annual Fee: $95

Apply for the highest card you're eligible for, as the bonus points on offer are higher, you get a higher earn rate on spend, and in the case of the black, you'll get unlimited lounge access to certain branded overseas lounges.

  • Black card still gives you unlimited free lounge access?

    • Op please confirm this or provide link to eligible lounges

  • Where does it say $0 fee for first year?

First year fee is not waived.

i just checked and it still isn't.

My brain was so used to seeing the annual fee waiver that when i finally signed up i didn't realize that promo was over. Cards now sitting inactivated until i can convince them to waive the fee for me

Thanks for this, should be in OP.

    • Agreed. Annual fee mostly kills this deal unless you are addicted to points and really understand how best to use them.
The first annual fee waive ended about 3 months ago.

  • The ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Visa only gives you 0.75 points per $1. Visa isn't as generous as Amex, I only have Citibank and HSBC that give you 1:1 in Visa

    • Correct, i believe the Citibank Sig Visa has a limit of $3k for 1:1 and anything after that is 1:0.5. I can't remember what the HSBC card limit is for 1:1 in Visa.

First year is not free and I certainly wont be spending $375 for a credit card!
I was offered this free when I missed the cut off on last deal by 1 day but no points……..not worth a credit check!
NOT A BARGAIN in any shape or form!!!!!
Mod should remove as not a bargain!

Agreed. $375 annual fee makes this a no go for bargain hunters.

It's black but it ain't back. I picked this up previously when the annual fee was waived.

  • how long does it take to receive bonus points after $2.5k spent? thank you.

  • Apply for the highest card you're eligible for

If I have a good credit rating and already have about 15k of credit limit with other non-ANZ cards, will I still be eligible for a Black card? How do I know how much I am eligible for? Can I ask the bank to check how much I am eligible for and only sign me up for whichever card that is?

  • Annual fee kills it.

  • If you have your mortgage with ANZ under the breakfree package you should be able avoid the annual fees. (May still have to pay the annual $50 to participate in the points program though).

    • drogba … interesting… I have that package.. if you were to follow through with enquires I'll look forward to your update.

    • I have the black card fees waivered under the breakfree program and just pay the $50 . I got another card last year in my own name to get the 100k points I think the promo was at the time as I am the supp card and had no dramas . Am about to cancel it as up in Nov and jump on the Westpac deal to get some more points !

        Thanks deb

  • It's not after $2,500 spend .. it's after the first eligible purchase within 3 months. Says it right there if you follow the link.

Agreed. OP should probably spend less time with song lyrics and more time getting the details of the deal right

  • Pretty sure the ANZ Rewards Platinum earn rate is only 2pts/$ for Amex and 1pt/$ for Visa (https://www.anz.com.au/personal/credit-cards/rewards/platinu…).
The good old days where we used to get lots of points are gone :(

  • I had the Platinum QFF card until AUG 2015 when I cancelled it after using it for a year and received the 50K bonus points. If I were to re-apply for the card again will I eligible to receive the 50K bonus points again? I have read the terms and conditions, it says "This offer applies only once per eligible customer". Any thoughts?
